Hey all, after owning a 1st Gen taco for the past 5 years and loving it to death I decided that instead of paying the insane prices for another Tacoma I'd start researching Tundras. I love the idea of having a full size truck for around the same money. (At least where I live ymmv)

Cutting to the chase I found a clean title '15 5.7 4x4 base model single cab long bed with 108k on it. I know that's fairly high for the year but it's a one owner truck, an older man who's a construction superintendent. Dealer serviced it's whole life, with servicing every 10k so I'm told. Most miles spent on the highway going job to job. Never been plowed with and apparently just carried around some tools and towed a small boat occasionally. Super straight body (red paint) and overall clean interior. Small rip in driver's seat but that's about it. I've talked him down to $13,000 for the truck. Which I feel is pretty good for it. But I'm just wondering what the general opinion is. And if there's anything specific I should be looking out for when / if I buy it. I don't care about the lack of creature comforts the base model comes with, I just want a full size truck with reliability as the first priority. Thanks all! Hope to hear from you

This sounds like a good deal to me. I know very little about the single-cab market, but a double or crew max cab with those spec's would be selling for over $20,000 in my area.

Never priced out a single cab but 13k sounds like a steal for any 3rd gen Tundra with that mileage.

They're definitely not bringing the money that the doubles and crews do, but it's not a huge difference. But I'm a single guy who owns next to nothing lol. I'd prefer the console shifter and having a back seat, but beggars can't be choosers.

That's my thought as well, 200k second gen tacomas are selling for more than that around here. Shit people are still getting low 10s for clean 1st gen Tundras, but they're also not super base single cabs.
