All of a sudden I have no cold air blowing from my A/C. Compressor is working and I don't see anything broken or missing. All dash controls working. I have a weird smell in the cab. I did a quick recharge with the auto store recharge kits but after about an hour or so its leaking out somewhere. I think it might be the evap. Does anyone know where the drain hose is for the condensation is so I can put a sniffer in there?? Thanks

Had this happen to me a few months ago AC stopped blowin cold, turned out that a squirrel had chewed the wires coming out of the firewall into the engine bay. I only mention the AC not working is what alerted me to the bigger problem once I popped the hood to have a look around.

Btw when I popped the hood a squirrel jump up then down out of the engine bay, lol. I tried to grab it but the little guy was faster. I guess it worked out I was slower, saved me some rabies shots. LOL.

Good luck solving your AC issue.

If you have a halogen leak detector just stick it in a vent and it will tell you if you have a leak from the evaporator. I would take it to a specialist, they have the proper equipment to check for leaks and to repair.

    good luck,john

ok so I did a dye test on the system and can not find any leaks. Where the hell did the freon go? Only thing I can think of is the evaporator and there is no easy way to get to it at all. Like I said in previous post, the cab did smell weird when this all started.

Well took it this morning for a professional look. Need an evaporator core. Between 1700 and 2500 for the job. Guess who will never have AC again, this guy.
