Hit Bambi the other day head on going about 55 which sent my hood latch support into my condenser and bent the main AC line. Going to attempt to do most of the work myself except Vacuum/ recharge the system.

Bought a new line and condenser but have a couple questions and concerns before I dive into it.

With the condenser being damaged I'm sure all of the fluid and pressure has already been released but is there a way to check that myself to be sure? Or should I be good to just start removing the parts?

Also when did they start coming out with the new freon in our trucks and where is this mystery sticker under the hood that tells me what kind I have? For the life of me I can't find it and I'm sure it's right in front of my face.. (mine is a 14 btw)

Is there a special tool to release the lines? The line in question looks like the main line on the bottom driver side of the condenser. It looks like it goes straight into the truck at the cab so not really sure if it just pulls out or what. I can snag a picture if needed.

    Thanks in advance!

Does the truck still blow cold air when switched to AC?

If still cold, you still have y1234 refrigerant in the system and under pressure.
