So I was working on my A/C unit changing the filter and discovered gold. As most know the a/c’s don’t blow very hard. Well I removed the covers and filter to clean it. Needless to say I left it all undone as I went to go buy a new filter. The damn thing froze me out. The filter definitely restricts the flow as does the covers slightly. The. If your like me you keep your manuals on the shelf that’s designed for them. This also restricted the flow. So right now I cut 1” off the back of the air filter and left off the filter cap. I did put the main filter cover back on. A little restriction but some much more air being able to be pushed through the vents.

Has anyone else done any tricks to the A/C besides a blower change. It gets up over 110 here and I never felt the cooling effects before we will see how this does.

I am having similar issues. Any update/issues since you made the adjustments?

No not yet. However I bought a Supertech filter #7255 from Walmart. Got a little nervous about dirt building up on blower with the section had cut off from old filter. Still blows hard with new filter. I also used an A/C pro to charge(top off the system) huge difference. A/C actually gets cold now. In the 7 years I’ve had the truck I think this is the coldest it’s ever been.
