I have 2017 SR5 Texas edition. when you connect the 7 pin connector to the truck it dose not show that the Trailor is connected and none of the lights or brake controller work. but if you hit the lock or unluck on the key fob that lights flash. I looked at the connection and you can see water in their. last time this happened the dealer replaced it saying it shorted out due to water getting inside. if it is shorted out again how do i prevent it from shorting out?

Replace the outlet again, keep a dummy plug in the connector to seal it.
