I discovered after towing my boat the surge brake lockout solenoid wasn’t engaging when backing up. I got out the multimeter and checked the output in the connector on the truck- nothing on the reverse output pin (center pin on connector) when in reverse . I suspected maybe a blown fuse, but they all seem to be good. I saw a couple relays marked with brakes/tow- not sure what they’re for.

I did a quick search on here but didn’t find anything specific to this issue. Any one have any experience on this?

I'm going through the same thing right now. Mine seems intermittent so far. It's a brand new truck (19) and I had zero problems with my 2010 Tundra. I think the possible issue is the plug from the trailer is being pulled too much after some sharp turns and it slightly comes out of contact? I'm am looking for an extender cord but haven't been able to find one yet. I would love to hear from others on thoughts on this. I really don't feel like it is on the boat side because there were no issues until I got into the new truck.

interesting, I've never had an issue...other than that one time I tried to back my trailer up without connecting the 5 pin.

Is everything else working, i.e. flashers, brake lights, etc.?

All my lights seems fine. I don't know if it just takes a little movement to not get a connection or what. I have pulled the power cord from the boat side as firm and possible and zip tied it in place to see if that helps. I will know by Sunday I have a couple of trips planned pulling the boat.
