Hey ladies and gentlemen. My Tundra is a 2016CM 4x4. 90% on my driving right now is paved road with occasional beach and logging road. Might do a little not too crazy off road driving in the future.

My question, for the price point (+/- 200 USD) is there a better or comparable alternative to the bilstein 6112/5160 combo? And, please point me to the right direction if you know a good place having sale of the above items. Thank you and appreciate all the incoming inputs.

The Bilstein 6112/5160 combo is a good setup for what you are looking for @iyaman . There are many people here running that setup with great reviews. I know @dirtydeeds is/was having a sale on them and I know the @memario1214 usually has them in stock.

After full 3 years of using 6112/5160 for my daily commute and weekend offroad trips, I can say they are probably up there in terms of performance / price ratio. Being not too familiar with other brands, I have heard good things with IRONMAN4X4, OLD MAN EMU, and DOBINSON suspensions for our trucks, maybe worth a look if you are researching for alternatives.
    Best of luck!

Thank you. Yes I was looking people on this forum that sells it. I did end up ordering from shock surplus for the combo.

I have the 6112/5160 combo. If I had to do it over and I might be, I wouldn't do 6112/5160. Suspension reviews are subjective. What works for one doesn't for another. For me it rides to rough for a daily driver. I have gone down a dirt/road road with pot holes and a slow speed, not fun. Now the same road doing 20-30 mph, totally different story. the shocks do what they are meant to do. But the trade off is, to me anyways, bad on-road comfort. You feel everything on the road with the 6112/5160. The 6112/5160 are digressive, which react better at higher speed. If I dont sell the truck and re-do my suspension, I will be going Progressive. Better for on-road comfort and just as good off-road.

Has anyone compared these with Fox 2.0s? Similar price range

I have read soooo much on coilovers in the last few days to make up my mind if I do decide to keep my truck. The majority of the people hate Fox 2.0 because it small, 2.0. I have read from some people that do know a thing or two about suspensions, they say there is nothing wrong with a 2.0 CO. 99% or people won't use or dont need anything higher, like 2.5 or 3. People will say that a 2.0 CO has no business in a full-size truck. Yet that's what comes OEM on pretty much all 1/2 tons and plenty of people have no issues.I had them previously but honestly it's been awhile so I didn't recall how they rode. They are a progressive CO, so it will ride soother on-road. You can read what I wrote above about my feeling about the 6112/5160. If I do keep my truck and dont get the GX 460, I will probably just get Fox 2.0 or Toyotec. My truck spends 90-95% of its time on the road. At one point I actually considered King 2.5 w/resi with a Accutune rebuild. But I dont think 3k for CO just to drive on city street is a wise investment. One once again, ride comfort or off-road comfort is subjective to the individual. As much as people love the 6112/5160, they are not my cup of tea.

Yeah thats why I mentioned the Fox 2.0. I'll be offroad a lot but more BDR and fire service road type and not the high speed desert stuff. Aside from that just getting to hike/mtb/ski places. Not a daily for me

Like I said, you also have to know what you what for on-road. Digressive(6112), in my opinion are not comfortable, at least not anymore anyways. I did like them when I put them on, but I recently went on a 2k mile trip and it got to me. Feeling every peddle on the road isn't fun. This is why I am either changing out the 6112 or getting a GX 460.

I've had the 6112s for almost 90K miles and more than 5 years. They've held up great. The 5160s started seeping a bit a year or two ago, so I replaced them with Fox shocks. I've been meaning to replace the 6112s with Fox 2.5s I have sitting in my garage once I stop being lazy. I'm curious to know if I'll be able to sense a difference in ride once I do. FWIW, I off-road occasionally on easy 1 and 2 diamond-rated trails. But most of my driving is on-road hauling the kids and an occasional load of stuff in the bed.
