Not a Joke! I will Venmo or Zelle $50 to the first person that correctly identifies where the hell the high pitch squeaking is coming from at the rear of my truck. Hint! It’s not the tailgate strike latch and it’s not the rear shocks because I replaced them yesterday. It squeaks when I shut the tail gate but also when I jump on the bumper. It’s definitely under the truck itself almost around the spare tire or shackles. WTF! Any ideas will be explored and if your idea works and your first I will send you the money. You will also get bragging rights! Game on!

have someone shut your tailgate while you lay under the truck to better locate where it's coming from.

Also check the bushings between the frame and bed.

U-joints on the drive shaft. Push up and down on the bed on each side of the truck. might be bushing on the shocks

Try wrapping electrical tape around this on both sides maybe 2 layers.

    Screenshot_20210415-175200_YouTube.jpg

Then spray a lubricant in the latch on both sides.

    Screenshot_20210415-175307_YouTube.jpg

If not this I'm going with shackle bushings.

I lived this on my old F250. replaced shocks only to determine the rear issue was the u-joints on the driveshaft.

    Good luck.

Do you have aftermarket shackles? Verify that the bed bolts are not coming into contact with the shackles. (I previously has TT shackles at the 1" setting and the bed bolts were rubbing on the shackles resulting in squeaking every time the bed moved.)

Damn, I’m gonna be out there 2 hours with all y’all help! The most interesting was the u-joints. It does have a 6 inch lift. Let me check shackles too!

Spray a little bit of w.d. on your rubber shock bushings and see if it goes away. I have a 6"pro-comp on my '12 cm and that's how I found my squeak

I just re-read your op you said you just did rear shocks, they probably just need a little more tightening

If it's not the U-bolts which I'm sure it is....Is it at Slow speeds. Sharp turns, Speed bumps, driveways? The first thing to look at, which is another common problem of where the squeak originates from rust in the leaf springs. The metal on metal rubs on the leafs, causing a squeak. Issue is you can't tell unless you pull them apart and check. Grease them and wipe them good before reinstalling. Synthetic only though so you don't ruin your steel.

Quicker fix can be Jack up rear, pressure washing your springs and lightly put "synthetic" grease/lube

    Good Luck.

Simple things first. Was the noise there before you did the work? If not, double check your work. Could be a easy fix

Muffler belt. Just spray belt lubricant and you’ll be good. I use Venmo normally. I’ll send my info via PM.

I had an annoying squeak on mine and it turned out to the the spring on the part that holds the spare tire in place. I lubed that and the noise went away.

Back up to a curb and very slowly crawl your rear tires up it and see if you hear creaking as your rear end raises. Once its on the curb Push down on each side of the bed. See if it is n both sides.

Kanobi13 is the WINNER! First solution! Thanks for as everyone’s input. Rather embarrassed I missed that one on my own. It ended up being a good opportunity to air it while I had it down troubleshooting. The frame and the tire were rubbed a shiny as they could be. Kanobi13, PM me you Venmo or Selle payment info and I will kick you the dough!
