Has anyone had the 4x4 hi transfer case actuator motor go bad? I’m trying to find one from a salvage yard. Is there an aftermarket one that anyone recommends? I have a 2007 tundra with the 5.7. Thank you

There is whole mechanism that you can buy, but you only need a motor. It is $700. You can get transfer case from junkyard. If you feel comfortable, you can take it apart and see if maybe motor seized and try to get it unstuck. There are whole thread about this issue.

Just to add to general information, my issue seams to be related to something else. After disconnecting battery for hours, 4WD seams to be working. However, it stops after a while. There only other thing that is present is TPMS warning light. It might be related. I will post an update after I confirm.

How is the TPMs sensor related? Mine is on, and also having issues with 4wd.

Something that ECU sees and it is programmed to disable going into 4WD if TPMS is active? Again, not sure, but I'm pursuing this avenue since 4WD driver works after disconnecting power for little bit. I think TPMS takes a bit to sync after power is disconnected. I will find out on Friday when I drop off truck to fix TPMS sensor issue.
