Trying to figure out a 2010 tundra 4wd problem. When switching into 4 wd the light flashes eight times and then a bunch of weird noise. It never does switch in. We replaced the one actuator that is recommended but that didn't help. Any advise would be helpful.

Here is a matrix, best way is an OBD2 reader that is able to read transmission and ABS codes as not all are equal.

Looks like the rear wheel sensor is the mostly culprit according to that chart.

I was gonna ask, which actuator did they already replace? I am assuming when its in 2wd all the lights are off and the issue comes up when you try to switch to 4wd?

The one near the transfer case and yes when it's in 2wd no lights, when you try to switch to 4h the light flashes 8 times and then make some notices.
