2020 CM limited owner. First time with a true 4x4 system had awd SUVs prior. Loving my truck. My question RE 4HI. The scenario: lots of snow out. Leave my driveway turn on 4HI enjoying my commute without worrying about sliding all over the dang place. Truck been rock solid in the snow crap. I get to work approach my parking spot park far away from all the dang door dingers.. Do you turn the 4HI off prior to parking? Once parked? Or leave it on as I will be driving home in 4HI? Last question, this weekend I was on a 2 lane country hwy, there was long stretches of snow/ice and then no snow- one spot I was in 2wd and was going a curve hill that was now icey tires slipped some so turned on 4HI- do you have to wait for the tires to not slip/slide lay off the gas prior to engaging the 4HI or you can turn it on at free will

Leave it in 4WD when you park. Some guys live where you leave it in 4WD for months.

While on the roadway twist the knob to go into 4WD HI when you want. Ya don't need a particular condition (other than don't be going 90 mph) to flip-the-switch.

If the road has varying spots of dry and snowy/wet you don't need to keep switching it into 2WD. Where 4WD is unhappy is going slow in a tight circle on a dry road, if you're driving down the road (even if it's super curvy), your tires are going to slip even if it's totally dry out. If there's varying snow conditions (or anything low traction) I just leave it in 4Hi until the road is totally clear and then go back to 2WD. The truck isn't going to break just because you leave 4WD on on dry ground.

in all of those conditions you described i would just leave in in 4HI. won't hurt a thing. just don't do any tight slow turns with it on unless you're on slippery surfaces.
