    Hi Guys,

Been trying to look for one of these in silver with no rust and in good condition. Seems like theyre hard to find since they were only made from 2007-2009. Most trucks in those years I see for sale are 5.7L. And if its a 4.7L that I find, its a double cab. I've been looking on Craigs and FB marketplace. Are these just a rare combo? Anywhere else to look for one?

    TIA.

That must be a rare combo, because I don’t know that I’ve ever seen one. Would definitely be a great find, as that 4.7 is (in my mind) the GOAT engine reliability wise.

The second gens are a lot heavier than a first gen not sure how underpowered a 4.7 would feel on a second gen body

They are but I don't foresee having to tow anything. The extra room is nice for my three kids in the crewmax as well.

I imagine the hotshot driver who drove his 4.7 1 million miles hauled heavy loads at least a few times. I really do like the power in my 5.7 but the smoothness and bulletproof 4.7 is something to behold.

I think the same driver that hit a million miles in the 4.7 did it in the 5.7 as well. But yes, to your point, my preference is the 4.7L. Will continue to try to find a good example of one.

im sure your truck is great but it highly annoys me when people infer that their 4.7 is capable of hitting a million miles (the guy Vic Shepard hit a million in his 5.7 as well) but my point is a regular guy with a 4.7 or 5.7 will never hit a million miles even if he drove a million miles…why? Because the most damaging thing to an engine is a cold start, this guy started his engine and drove about 500 or 600 miles pretty much non stop every single time if you drive like a normal person and stop a few times a day and in theory if you actually did that for a million miles your engine would take a shit long before the million even with religious maintance

the 4.7 is great I’m not hating on it but I’ve seen countless 4.7 2uz with blown head gaskets etc well under 300k miles because of neglect and again just time and a bunch of cold starts
