Hello, I have a 2010 double cab 4.6 2WD. I recently I been having transmission issue. Had multiple shop including the dealership inspect and all said I need to replace or rebuild my transmission. I have been looking online for a used one and the 4.6L model are so much more expensive then the 5.7L model. Have anyone tried to put a 5.7L transmission on a 4.6L engine before? Is this even possible? I’m trying to get more opinions any help is appreciated. Thank you

Slipping? Not changing gears up/down? Tried full flush?

So a 2010 2wd tundra w/ 4.6L engine would have used the A760E, it can also be found on (maybe you can find a good used one w/some warranty?):

The 5.7 tundra 2wd tundra used the AB60E trans. I'd rather try to find a used one from a tundra or other vehicle above. From my readings, the most trustworthy trans are used Toyotas, not rebuilt or remanufactured ones.

Luck and enjoy the Toyotas. : ^ )))

    Welcome from TX!

I was unaware that there may be a difference. I cannot answer if transmission from 5.7 would work.

Curious if different I searched on Ebay and they are listed differently and are priced a bit higher than one for 5.7. There must be fewer used ones available than 5.7's. There are several listed in the $1200-1800 range with $0-200 shipping.

Persistence is key when shopping for something like this.

    Good Luck!

    Did you figure this out?

I have a 2015 SR 4.6 2WD and a (not running) 2008 4WD 5.7. I'm going to move the 4wd parts to the 2015 but I need to know if the transmission from the 5.7 (AB60) will work in the 4.6 engine.
