Came across some limitations on the USB media connection.

SO... I'm a bit stuffy when it comes to music quality. As much as I enjoy Spotify and Tidal via Android Auto, having some of my essential albums in FLAC has always been great. Taking full advantage of the JBL system was a major selling point for me. Initially, I tried a 1GB USB stick with no issues and thought - great it works - time to load up my 512GB Micro SD!! Well, I did exactly that, plugged it into the port, and... Nothing. :smash:

Turns out the media system ONLY works with FAT32 formatted SD/USB Sticks which meant 32 GB was going to be the limit (which for a 2022 model vehicle is trash). There is a workaround, however!

SOLUTION - Free Partition Software: EaseUS free version worked great

    https://www.easeus.com/partition-manager/epm-free.html

This will allow you to format any SD Card or USB stick over 32 GB to FAT32 vs ExFAT or NTFS.

    So far, so good!

Next Thread: A deep dive into supported audio formats including sample and bit rate.

This is outstanding information Adam_1794! Thank you. What is the largest capacity card you’ve been able to get working so far?

I would really wonder if you can tell the difference with lossless on a stock JBL system, I mean they are kinda shitty systems in general. so lossless vs say a 320 Kbs stream from Spotify?

especially with the wonky tuning of that system with all the bass in the doors, etc.

Isn't the "JBL" portion just the equalization/amplification/and production after the head unit processes it?

Ya I’m curious about this as well. I am a bit of a self proclaimed audio file and love this stuff.

OP - can you actually hear a difference? Maybe I need to just give it a try.

GENERALLY when I really want to listen to good sounding music - I power up the turn table and spin some vinyl. I just love the analog stuff. Digital mostly sounds lifeless and sterile to my ears. But maybe I just haven’t had the best set up for digital yet.

    Adam_1794,
Will your system voice search the USB drive for artist, album, etc?

Any update on this? I've changed a 512 card to fat32 and even though it's loaded with songs only some of them will play
