3rd Gen Tundra Hood Decal

I just placed my order and will update this post when it’s on. I had the same company’s vinyl hood decal on my Tacoma and I think it looks awesome, plus cuts down on glare. They are pretty easy to install: a spray bottle with a couple drops of baby shampoo mixed in, keep it and the hood really wet and slide it around till you are happy, then squeegee the water out starting near the windshield working towards the front grill.

It’s a great product if you like the look. Functional yet unique. I emailed them and paid via PayPal, no official purchase page.

how is it functional?

 

Prevents glare from the sun off the hood, works on tacomas with scoops.

 

I had a Tacoma with a scoop a few years back, the glare was so bad that after putting up with it for a year I had to trade it in on a new one w/o the scoop. Wish I’d known about these decals then.

I have a silver Tundra and I notice it driving around. End of the world? No. But maybe when I get it on and come up behind a Prius in the fast lane they’ll want to save the earth in the slow lane.

 

I get glare in the morning from the inside edge of lip where hood center and sides meet. Decals along that small edge on each side could look good and cut the blinding glare. Any idea if something like that has ever been available for past Tundras or Tacomas?

 

I haven’t seen anything like that. Email the guy I bet he could do it. I asked him for the Tundra decal and he went down to a dealer and took measurements.

Well, never realize the glare until this morning while driving into work. I will wait and see your experience with this decal and then I might have to order!
