Curious on others gas mileage experience with the hybrid. I recently purchased a 2023 1794 4x4 hybrid. customer sheet states 20.5mpg combined city/Hwy, and sticker states 17-22mpg.
I have roughly 500 miles on it with conservative driving - my mpg is hovering around 17mpg. I know its not a "hybrid" in terms of mpg.. but was at least hoping for something closer to posted. anyone else experiencing the same?

I have a 22 platinum hybrid and have 1,400 miles on mine. I am at 17.4 right now over the entire life. Mostly city driving, very little freeway. I hear after a couple thousand miles it gets better but I haven’t seen it yet…

I have 1794 Trd hybrid. 4000 mikes 16.8 more or less it gets better mileage around town because I drive to fast on the highway 16-17 would my guess as to all around average so far

Somebody must've reported it, or a mod stumbled upon it and cleaned it up.

Meh usually around 45 mins weights and 20 mins post cardio for weight days. Otherwise “off” days are just 30-60 mins of decent cardio.

All good. I’m hoping this forum keeps encouraging newbys, no matter how many times the same question is asked. We can either be part of the solution or part of the problem.

Let it break in and also wait until it warms up in spring. If you are at 17 now I bet youll easily hit 20.

Do yourself a favor, don't have the mpg showing on the dash and never look at it. You will all love your truck a lot more if you don't know/care what mpg your getting because they rarely get the amount listed on the sticker.

My 2023 SR5 double cab with TRD Off Road is showing a consistent 19.5 mpg. Driving is a mixed city/highway, but mostly in town. I am running it in eco mode, and being gentle. I have 1300 miles on it.

2022 Platinum Hybrid, have 3k miles so far. Seeing about 15.8mpg consistently on a mix of driving. I’m not a lead foot, but do drive 75ish in the highway.
Thinking winter blend fuel & warming up prior to traveling has an impact.
Love the truck! Huge improvement over my 2008 CrewMax.

I’ve had my ‘23 platinum hybrid only for a couple weeks and am seeing about 15.6mpg city driving mostly in eco mode. Haven’t even gotten 500 miles on it yet though. My last 1/2 ton got about 13.5mpg city, so this is an improvement, but I’ve been expecting better.

I appreciate the forum guidance and the info on this thread. Certainly a newby. On the forum for all of one day. I did search prior to posting... as Godzilla articulated how. I saw two threads on the first page but nothing specifically for the hybrid. Probably should of kept scrolling through pages before I posted. Will next time. But I have certainly benefited from the info in this post and appreciate the encouraging words from others on the mpg saga..

I'm seeing 16.8 avg around town, 17.7 when I was on the interstate for the first 1,100 miles. 2023 Hybrid 1794 TRD OR 5.5 - 1400 miles on it now. My biggest problem around town, are the number of people that want to test my acceleration at stop lights/signs. :) I need to do a tankful where I take it relatively easy and see what I get.

my 2011 dblcab sr5 trd or - got 12 on the interstate, and 15.5-17 if I babied the throttle. One tank, I got 19.1, but I really babied it, kept speeds down, drafted behind large trucks, etc.

I have a 2022 SR 2WD crew max with around 1600 miles. I’m seeing an average 20.2mpg half and half highway and city and I’ve gotten up to 25.3 on a 2 hour highway trip. I’ve been pretty conservative on the throttle, but I do like to hear the turbos whistle.

I have just over 2k miles and Fuelly says I’m averaging 17.4. I’m mixed to slightly more city. I have a Limited 4x4 non hybrid.

I was getting 18.6 average when I had under a 1000 miles, but I was driving like a grandma and keeping RPM under 2500 when I could…. Now that I drive it how I want I’m seeing 14.6, but I’m also on larger tires :bananadance:

I'm about 600 miles and I'm around 17-18, I see anywhere from 13-15 in the am commute (warmup and defrost windows) and 20ish on the way back, that's about 80/20 highway/city.

Truck drinks gas anytime it's not just idling or at a cruise with very light throttle, the mpg react as if your flooring it or coasting with 0 settings in between.

I also think the sweet spot is 67mph, looks like I get into 10th and airdam comes down already and the mpg sometimes hovers around 25-30 but immediately goes to like 5 if you even look at the throttle pedal. At 65 I feel like truck is only in 9th

I have a 2023 Platinum hybrid and I follwed the break-in period according to the manual. No excessive speeds for the first 1000 miles. My average 22.9 MPG and I drive in Eco mode. I must say that I don't drive it hard. I try to keep the meter within the eco range when I am driving.

I was getting the same at about 17 for the first couple thousand miles and got an intake to bump it up. they shouldn’t need thousands of miles to run drive cycles to adapt and learn. Toyota only recommends relaxed driving for the first 1000 for engine break in. I stick to normal drive mode, it feels like the truck is dragging an anchor in eco mode

Does anyone know if eco mode does anything besides changing shift points and reducing throttle response?

getting 15mpg on a Limited Hybrid....
came here to find out if something was wrong with mine to be honest. I had a 22' gas limited getting around 17.5mpg.
From Canada and in the midst of winter...wondering if thats making such a big difference?
