Looking into updating the interior on my 2013 2nd Gen a bit. Really want to have a modern looking head unit with Apple CarPlay. I know there is plenty of aftermarket options out there, but I’ve seen mixed reviews. Has anyone tried swapping in the head unit from the newer sequoias that have CarPlay stock? Any thoughts? Ive seen threads about other parts being compatible, but haven’t been able to find much info on this

I recall reading that it would be extensive wiring changes to make it work. I ended up w an Alpine ILX207 and it looks factory and works perfectly with the Maestro (steering wheel controls) and backup camera.

I agree with Matt on this one. The OEM has built in so much functionality with the factor display units, that, while you can replace them with aftermarket, we'd loose a great deal of what is built-in. Can't even imagine trying to adapt a next gen OEM display with a previous gen harness!
