Anybody know if the 4.6L and 5.7L trucks share the same 4x4 transfer case? My service rep at the Toyota dealership wasn't able to tell me, which I thought was odd (read lazy).

I have been fighting with an inoperative 4x4 system and want to get another transfer case to verify the position of the actuators and potentially just swap the entire case. I have found plenty of 5.7 cases for sale but no 4.6 cases.

While I can't confirm, I would bet money they are identical. Same transmission, and my understanding is the engine is nearly identical and is just a destroked 5.7, so everything downstream is most likely identical too.

Search on a toyota parts site under each model. The part number may be the same

This is the same mindset I had
I’ll give that a look, thanks. I know a lot of parts have different numbers and superseded numbers that get confusing sometimes so I was asking here if anyone knew.
