Soon I will be installing an power tail gate lock on my 2016 Tundra.
I am considering removing the factory key lock mech in the tailgate plastic latch and using that hole for a camera. I plan on keeping the factory back up camera on the left side of the latch , but I currently have a dash camera that has front and back camera that record all the time and figured it would be an ideal location.

Has anyone removed their factory key mechanism after installing a power tailgate lock to do the same or to insert a plastic disc in that hole as a keyhole delete?
I just watched a nice step by step video of the factory power tailgate lock , and with the inner tailgate panel off, it looks like the factory key lock could be removed without issue.
