22 Tundra TRD Suspension Lift Kit

Question for those that got the lift installed at the dealer - Did the dealership re-calibrate your speedometer for the larger tires?

Just had mine installed by local suspension shop, I asked about the brake lines, he said there was a difference in length, ones that come with the kit were definitely longer. Said OEM on the rear were the ones that really needed to be replaced. Now on the CV Axles, he said the drivers side from the kit was shorter than OEM, the passenger side was longer. He said everything was helluva allot beefier. When they put the ECM back in, getting all kinds of lights on the dash, hopefully they will all reset. Looks good, just waiting on them to finish the alignment.

 

Not a good picture, does look like the front sits higher than the rear, will take a good look at it tomorrow. It rides a helluva allot better than it did though, that’s a plus.

 

I’m not sure of ride just yet…anything like a speed bump almost feels like a truck with no shocks. Love the look though…

 

Question, now that you have Lift installed, was reading the install instructions, the auto level for the head lights no long auto adjust, am I reading that correct, I know there was a link that was disconnected on the rear of the truck. It also says they need to look at the head light and manual adjust if needed.

 

From what I've been told, the premium auto adjustable headlights only adjust automatically by the air bags in the rear (if you have air bags suspension). No air suspension, then it won't adjust.

I have these premium auto adjustable headlights and regular suspension (no air suspension) and headlights do not adjust at all...

 

Thanks, from what I read they were suppose to from what I read in the book, have the same setup as you do. I will do some more research on the subject, appreciatie the answer.

For what its worth, I have a limited with factory installed lift. I added 35's and havent had a single person flash their lights at me. Highway and backroads. I use the auto bright button, but i feel like they are adjusted where they should be. As far as tires, I was told that recalibration wasn't possible at this time. at 80, its only 3 off

 

Different tires makes a big difference in ride and appearance, allot smoother and quieter. Only jumped to 275/65/20, went with Cooper AT3

 

Any one run 33s with the factory TRD lift? I’m looking to maintain mpgs and performance as much as possible.

 

33s? Can you post a few more shots? Considering 33s myself to preserve performance and move. Any discernible difference from stock? Are those AT3s LT Or XLT Or 4S? Thank you!

 

I’ll take another pic, gas mileage with lift &tires took a hit, about 2 mpg, ride is helluva allot better. But if I had the big monies, I believe I would have went with a full setup from King or Icon. Tires are LT’s actually 34.1 could have went bigger, but some folks were saying that 35’s rubbed the UCA on stock wheels.

 

Big tires don’t seem to faze these trucks other than fuel economy. I would suggest finding the lightest tire and wheel setup. My wife’s truck has 35’s. Just put a deposit on mine. Thinking of trying 37’s.

 

I thought I’d stick with my 33” BFG KO2s and factory steelies after my lift to save money and performance.

I lasted 4 days before I couldn’t stand it anymore. Maybe with less offset and nicer wheels it would’ve been more tolerable.

 

Care to share the name of the dealer...that sounds like a great price

Looks really good. I have the 2024 Limited and going TRD Lift with 285/65R20 in Mickey Thompson Baja Boss AT.

Can you tell me how far your tires poke out from your fenders or do you have some pictures showing that? I love the stance of your truck in that picture!

 

I put 35” Nitto Ridgegrapplers on the stick 20” wheels

Not really any poke. I do get the slightest rubbing at full lock, but it is very minimal and I just avoid that when I can. Didn’t want to go smaller on tires.

 

How did they do this?

 

Looks perfect IMO. I went with 285/65R20. I was told any bigger and would not be able to use chains (if needed).

 

So I just finished this novel of a thread the last 4 nights.

Clearly Toyota was like Thanos and said, "I'll do it myself" since it appears that dealers are messing up installs when people put the proper max tire size and still got rubbing.

Was at Rick Hendrick in Fayetteville NC and saw this floor item. Dude said no rubbing of course. So I left with my 4 oil filters (do my own now after some curb kisses by dealer).

What's everyone else's final assessment?

I'm anticipating throwing the kit on next March when I pcs. Will keep stock 20s and run 35/12.5/20 ko2 but probably end up getting rubber?

 

With stock wheels and 35’s , and 3” lift there is no way you will get any rubbing. There will be lots of room.
Even with stock height and no lift and 35’s you will have ample clearance as long as you stay with the stock wheel offset.
Change offset from stock +60 and you WILL be rubbing somewhere.
Keep in mind less offset from+60 pushes the tire out , thus increasing the radius of your wheel , hence less space in the wheel well.
So going from +60 to 0 offset pushes your wheel 2.36” further out.
That’s a lot
Most trucks factory offset is around +30 . But not here .
Pay attention to your offset when planning your wheel tire combo. Not so much on the lift
