I just hit 4500 miles and around 2k miles my 14” JBL stereo would stop connecting to my phone via wireless CarPlay. I tried deleting the device and re-connecting it. For whatever reason wireless CarPlay will not work. I can manually select my iPhone as the desired device and it says connected but it quickly disconnects. CarPlay will only work if my phone is connected to the stereo via USB cord. When I deselect wireless CarPlay and select “Phone” and “Media” my phone connects and stays connected but I lose the CarPlay functions. In addition to this my stereo unit randomly turns off and reboots. Sometimes it right after I start the engine and I’m backing out of my driveway and sometimes I’ve been driving for over 30 minutes. Sometimes it will reboot multiple times in one trip or it will go days before rebooting. Has anyone had this issue? I’ve search the threads and post and it doesn’t seem like a common issue.

Do you have VPN on your phone? That is most likely the source of your problems.

“VPN” is showing as “Not Connected”. However I’m not physically inside my truck and trying to connect. I haven’t changed any settings on my phone since I drove home the truck for the first time.

Understood, just saying this a very common connectivity issue with all wireless connections. Disable VPN entirely, the "not connected" can interrupt the wireless connection between the truck and phone.

I have the same exact issue. I have an iPhone. Guest always gets login even though my profile is "primary driver". it never automatically connects nor does it stay connected after I manually connect.

I got myself setup as the primary driver and I haven’t had/noticed any issues with guest always getting logged in. I think the primary driver might also be linked to the key fob but I’m not quite sure.

I had an appointment at Toyota and they took a look at the issue. I was told that the iOS 16.2 update was the issue and Toyota is “working on an update” to correct the issue. I was also told the update will not be available via wireless update so I’ll have to come back once the update is available.
