Hello new to the forum as I just recently got a 1794 Tundra (love it). I have a question regarding the metal emergency key that comes with the FOB, design, and dealing with the Tacoma digital key card.

I have the metal emergency key that comes with the FOB. I noticed my for the 2025 it doesn’t have a “line” carved in it. I notice when I search online for 3rd gen metal keys, 2022-2024 have the “line” carved in the middle of the key. Question, does the 2022-24 metal key look different than the 2025?

2nd question, I just purchased the Tacoma Digital Key Card and had the dealership program it for my Tundra. Works great and I love it, don’t have to carry a fob anymore, just my wallet. Has anyone purchased the 69515-12350 master key for their Tundra and had it cut? I tried to get mine cut at the dealership but noticed it had a “line” carved through it. When they cut, it didn’t match the metal key that came with my fob and wouldn’t unlock my door.

I have a '25 with the card key. The dealership should have cut the key on the line side. That's how mine was cut and works fine.

Does your master key from the fob have a line through it as well? Maybe I need to purchase another key from them and try again.

Here's my 2, side-by-side. Dealer cut key looks a bit rough but works. Also, you must insert either key with the cut side toward the inside of the handle. The card backup key is significantly shorter, so maybe where they cut it on the key is making a difference too. It's an expensive key to mess-up.
