Hello, Kevin here, new to the forum.
I currently have a 2021 Nissan Titan that has a slew of naggy issues (water leaks, resulting mildew smell, steering column issues, paint on the roof seams is cracking, tranny issue that was ultimately resolved, etc) and Nissan isn’t much help fixing their obvious quality issues, likely as the company is in turmoil. I bought it because it has a no frills reliable V8 and it’s a pretty truck, but with all the issues I’ve had I think I’m ready to let go, even with only 25000 miles. I’ve had an F150 before and that truck nicknacked me to death with little issues as well.

Anywho- I’ve always been a Toyota fan (Camry, Corolla, RAV4 hybrid owner in the past) and all of them were bulletproof. I’ve wanted a tundra for a while and am trigger shy about the -elephant in the room- known engine issue that’s present in the media.

I have a pretty sweet trade deal worked out on a 2025 blue Tundra Limited with the nightshade package and a slew of fancy options. It’s beautiful.

Is the general consensus that the 3.5 is pretty reliable? Can I expect top notch Toyota quality or is it likely I’m going to run into annoying issues? I’ve also read about pinion gears going bad under 1000 miles, etc. Would appreciate your thoughts! Thanks

Buy that bitch. You won’t be able to wipe the smile off your face and you’ll probably clean it more then you clean your self. This sums up my experience.

That blueprint color is pretty tough paired up with the black out package. You won’t regret it. And you have at least 3 years of coverage to address the motor if needed. The replaced engines seem to have been overwhelmingly an improvement fwiw

highly suggest the factory power running boards

I appreciate the advice, but sincerely hoping the engine issues of the early 3rd gen’s are worked out on the 25’s. I don’t want to buy a truck with a slight anticipation of maybe needing the engine replaced one day :)

If the dealer told you that you can put as many miles as you want on it and you can bring it back 2-3 years later for a brand new factory crate motor dealer installed. Tht would seem like a crazy deal. I get it’s not “original” but that won’t bother me. That’s my situation.

It should be in your garage now, or out on your driveway, if you’re a poor boy.

Haha- a garage seems to be the American dream doesn’t it. My TWO garage spaces are reserved for the wife’s car and my ‘55 ;)

I just traded in my Gen 2 for a 2025 Limited. Nicest truck I've owned. Go for it!
