Not sure if this is a feature or a fault. I have a 2025 crewmax limited. When climate control is set to Auto, no issue…however if I adjust the fan speed, then the climate control comes out of auto…but it doesn’t light up the other options on the air control dash….ie..air recirculating or not, AC on or off. Not a big deal I thought…but then I hear this clunking from the engine area…most likely a relay or valve related to the climate control. If I then manually select the air recirculating and AC button…then the clunk stops. Is there a way to come out of auto climate control or is this a fault in the system? Anyone else notice this?
I have a video of the clunking noise but it won’t let me upload it.

You have to find way to upload the noise if you want good feedback.

Not sure about your description above, but in general, when the AC compressor starts - in auto mode usually, there is some noise that you'll hear from the AC compressor.

This engine also has random noises when in park - such as waiting on traffic lights etc and the reason is usually the dual fuel injection (direct and port fuel injection) doing the cleaning to avoid carbon build up. So maybe that's what you're hearing. If you can consistently reproduce it then have dealer listen to it...

Thanks for the advice….its a strange one. When in full auto there’s no issue and when the lights are lit up….second pic above…no issue. The only time this clunking happens is when I’m in full auto and adjust the fan speed….pic one above….
Here’s a link to the video with the noise…I put it on you tube.

Normal noise. Also when the ac is on the button doesn’t show it’s normal .

I agree that I’ve heard noise like this before when a compressor valve opens but it doesn’t go on and on. My wife’s 4 Runner shows the status lights in auto and when switched to manual…weird why that would change for Tundra. This clicking will go on indefinitely if I was to leave it. When it’s full auto or full manual there’s no noise….just when it’s in this in between state.
