Have codes that the others I’ve talked with said calibration of sensors and reflash front camera. Toyota dealer said it’s related to aftermarket parts ( duh ) and go back to where it was installed. I asked them to do this because it all was done but they dont seem to want to do it. Have any others had these messages or installed bumpers and grill ? If so, what did you tell Toyota dealer to help them understand?

Check with a body shop. That front bumper sticks out alot more than your factory one for sure. I have a guy that lives 3 doors down that calibrates those for a living. He travels to body shops & windshield shops & resets sensors. Good luck!
I'd stay away from dealer, since it no longer stock, they don't want to fool with it obviously.

The camera issue sucks, but do you also have the TSS issue? If so will Toyota not calibrate that?

Yes sir. Toyota says they can’t calibrate ( three dealers so far) because aftermarket. I have an appointment in a few weeks with a glass company that thinks they may be able to recalibrate. I’ll post if it helps.

Sorry to hear about the issue on your Tundra. Off topic, the truck looks great. Front and rear bumpers really change the look of it. Wheels and tires look great too. Has Trailhunter vibes to me. The trim level Toyota may offer on the Tundra someday, maybe, never? Who knows. lol

Hey man thanks ! Don’t get me wrong I love my Tundra. Self inflicted issues that I am sure someday someone will figure out how to get into the system to correct. Super capable build and I appreciate the compliment.

Toyota does have a way to deactivate the front millimeter wave radar for these exact purposes. This is a permanent deactivation and bricks the system.

They will need to look up the document in TIS (dealer will know).
This is the problem with aftermarket parts on vehicles with all of these new safety features.

Each system has to be calibrated individually. The pre-collision system is tied to your millimeter wave radar. This radar unit sits near the bottom of the front grille and seems to have been removed after the new grille install? If it's still there then the issue could be that the millimeter wave radar can't penetrate through that bumper area.

The rear camera is part of the surround view system and this is another separate calibration operation. Since it is no longer in its factory location, it cannot be calibrated. This camera works along side the 2 cameras on your side mirrors, and the camera located in the front grille (is it still there?)

Unfortunately, there is no way to get the system calibrated properly due to these reasons. The computer has specific parameters for these systems.

The other systems that are separate calibration operations are the blind spot monitoring (sonar located behind the rear bumper on the LT and RT side) and the lane trace assist (windshield camera) .

Here is the TSB for disabling the radar.

As a side note, how do you like your Dirtbox?

For what it’s worth my Ironman Apex bumper hasn’t thrown any codes, if you ever change up your bumper
