New guy here, coming over from the dark side (FORD) due to all the issues I have had the last 14 years with Super Duty - $50-60K in warranty/out of pocket repairs. Not a mechanic so I always get whatever warranty I can, for the above reason, which this one still has all of them including lifetime power train. Been trying to do research and saw the engine main bearings issue on 22-23 but not sure if it bled over into the 24s. I figured this would be the best place to start to get any knowledge on these trucks. Any thoughts are appreciated.

I've got a 6/24 build date with just shy of 13k miles and zero issues if that helps. I love this truck and plan on keeping it 10+ years.

I was going to ask for build date tonight. I as well hoping this will be my final truck purchase. It only has 5K miles on it so I am wanting to be careful.

I came from Ford as well. I had a 2022 F150 that was a thorn in my side for 13 months until I traded for a 2024 Tundra. I have 33K miles on my 1794 with only a couple of minor issues that were handled by the dealer. This Tundra is my first and it is truly a breath of fresh air after dealing with the F150 I had.

That being said, if you read the engine failure threads on this forum, you will find that there have been a few 2024 engine failures reported, but not as many as in the 2022 and 2023 model years. Mine runs great, but it seems they all do just before they don't. I do 5K oil changes with good oil and a good filter, use 93 octane top tier gas, change air filters more often than recommended, etc., etc. In other words, I do everything I can to give the engine the best possible chance of survival. In the end, if my engine has damage from debris or bad bearings or a faulty design, none of those things may matter one bit.

In the end, I drive it and enjoy it. I'll be leaving soon for a 5,000-mile trip out west. The thought of an engine failure will be in the back of my mind, and I'll have the number for roadside assistance handy just in case.

Safe travels and I do not put a lot of miles on my vehicles - I put 50K in 7 years. I just found this Platnium and now I know why the mileage is low and price is good. Time to start looking for something else but still doing my research.

Yes, it sounds like that might be one to avoid. Good luck with your search.

Don't rule out looking outside of your state. I live in Georgia, and flew to Texas for $98.00 1way, and saved 5k to 8k.
Has a great time driving back home for 2 days. (ROAD TRIP)
My whole motor was replaced by the Dealership at 20k. Because of the Recall. Toyota seems to correct their problems properly.

Drive it til the wheels fall off! Lol

I want this to be my “last” vehicle even though I’m still young. My mentality is as long as I take care of it then it’ll take care of me. I get how things will wear and break but things can always be fixed.
