Any idea on when the 2023 models will go into production? I am planning a fall purchase but see no reason to get on the list for a 2022 if it gets delivered right before the 2023 rolls out.

What do you mean by fall purchase? You expect to buy one off the lot, or put an order in with your dealer so he can get one allocated ?

Traditionally they start rolling onto the lots in October. But who knows these days?

To commit to an allocated truck that will arrive in the fall time frame after I get my bonus.

Unless many things change in a BIG way before now and the fall...it's probably more like December. At least that's when the 22's started hitting the lots here. That and the fact that Toyota had to shutdown production for a little while recently.

I mean, and I know what I'm about to say will sound crazy if I hadn't seen it for myself, but a local Toyota dealer here in Vegas got a 100% brand new 2021 delivered not but 2 weeks ago. Granted, that had to have been some sort of anomaly but it illustrates how messed up/far behind things are right now.

The only reason I heard about it was I had put my name on a list for new/low mile CPO 2021s (before I pulled the trigger on a 22) with this salesman back in November. He called & texted me the moment they pulled it off the truck. I had to break the news to him that I was already 5,500 miles into ownership of my 22 by that point. It was a great truck though. Fully decked out SR5 DC with the TRD OR package in cement gray.

Also take into account that Toyota has voiced that it will be having an "intentional cooling off period" Apr-Jun of this in the production sector to ensure that safety and quality are the highest priorities. Materials shortages are likely making that decision easier as well.

Who knows how much demand will ball up over those slow production months... :notsure:

2023 model year should enter production fairly soon. Probably in August or September, to start hitting lots in October. Best bet now is probably to just wait. Availability will probably cause you to have to anyway.

will 2023 get rid of the ugly ass mustache on the front grill or at least color match it the rest of the truck?

Let's hope not. Don't want to cater to every chrome hater. The theme of the 2023 Tundra? 2 words: ALL. CHROME!

    All chrome F-150 for reference.

This idea? It is not a good one. In fact, it is a bad one. A very bad one.

It seems someone already beat us to it on a previous generation.

    upload_2022-3-14_15-7-29.jpg

haha. On a side note: I've said this before but it's worth repeating (to each their own)...the chrome has grown on me over now that I'm over 3 months of ownership. I've added more black to my truck and it's balanced everything out. I went to all black wheels and dropped the OE wheels with the silver machined "bead." I also added the Predator side steps, black letter inserts on the tailgate, and the OE bed cover that makes the black bed stand out MUCH MORE than before.

I'm not saying I've become a massive fan of chrome, but it bothers me much less now than it did before. I know I'm still in the minority, but it went from being high on my "Spend Money on this IMMEDIATELY" list to near the bottom.

    That hurts to look at.

I'm thinking about getting a few rattle cans of plastidip to address the trim and the wheels this weekend. Black on the wheels and maybe anthracite for the trim. Figure if I don't like it or it doesn't work out, I'm out maybe $30 (what's a quarter tank of gas?). And I can always peel it off.

Curious on longevity of the chrome film before it starts to deteriorate. I wouldn't think more than a few years :notsure:

My dealer is at 10 months wait on any tundra if u place a deposit now. U may want to check whatever dealer u will use first, if your like me and unwilling to pay a market adjustment u may want to get on a waitlist now and take delivery of a 2023 in January or February

wow, where are you located? I just received two calls asking if I want to reserve platinum trims coming in. I'm tempted to take one since they're actually selling less than MSRP for locals.

Oh yeah, I called up a couple places in New Jersey and their markups were ridiculous. There's a few dealerships in PA that isn't doing ADM but there wasn't any incoming Tundras that I wanted.
