I am getting vibrations and aftershock vibrations after driving over even very small bumps in the road. I had a big problem happen in May. I was driving 25mph and came to a slow stop. All of a sudden there was a loud clank like gears or metal coming together. It was so forceful it shoved me forward and I thought someone rear ended me but there was no one around. I am concerned that the torque converter may have malfunctioned. I have been to the dealership and they are not really helping. They even called Toyota and the Toyota rep told them unless a service rep is with me in the truck when it happens they are not going to do anything about it. I am posting this to see if anyone has any ideas what I should look at. I am going to a car repair shop, not Toyota, and have them evaluate it also but I wanted to reach out on the forum first.

I get these vibrations in the road every little nook and cranny bump ever. Almost to the extent that when im done driving 100KM trip, i feel odd about it. Im thinking this is mostly related to coil springs vs leaf springs. I am currently playing with my trucks tire's air to see if i can remedy a bit of those bumps.

The stoppage you experienced sounds like the auto braking may have kicked in but it's not accompanied with the loud clanking sounds. If they can't replicate it at the dealership and it didn't throw any codes it's going to make it hard for them to work on.

Thanks for replying!!! I appreciate your thoughts. It didn't throw any codes. The dealership is not acknowledging the vibration while driving. They said they could not duplicate it. The vibration is so obvious I don't see how they could not duplicate it. The vibration started after the incident that I posted and it seems like it gets worse the longer you drive it.
