Just bought a 2023 tundra sr5 and was warned about the ride quality (mainly on the freeway). The roads in Utah are bad and the truck vibrates (and is just bumpy AF) at higher speeds. I’ve never felt this before as I’ve always had high priced sedans.

What is the cheapest solution? TRD Pro suspension is pricey and I don’t know what else to do.

EDIT: My brother had the exact same problem with his SR5. He sold it and bought the TRD PRO instead and it made a massive difference.

Welcome to the world of trucks. I started with Jeeps back in the 90s, then a Dodge pickup, then onto a 2nd Gen Tundra. My 2023 SR5 rides just fine and is far more comfy than any of the other trucks I've owned.

In today's world just because a truck is trimmed out with expensive leather, electronics, panoramic roof, etc, etc, like a high priced sedan, doesn't mean it's going to drive like one. The chassis and powertrain are essentially the same no matter how fancy some of the bits are. Sorry to say it's a truck bro.

Maybe air down to about 35… maybe 32 psi if on stock wheels.

Have a 23 SR5, only "mods" are the trd limited wheels and KO2 tires (factory size). It's all subjective but I think the ride is great for a full size truck, I have owned a gen 2 tundra and a Silverado. It will never feel like a sedan or a unibody suv. Trade off for towing, strength, etc...

I know it's a truck but my brother's SR5 was like this. He sold it and bought the TRD PRO instead and it's much, much smoother of a ride. What makes the huge difference with the Pro over the SR5?

    Lots of stuff!
You could try a set of the TRD OR shocks and springs. Those could be had for much less than the Pro Fox system. And like others have said, drop the air pressure in your tires. Check out the marketplace section of this forum.

Throw some sandbags into the bed to see if it'll improve the ride, it should

I guess it's all what you are used to. I came from a CCLB 2500 Ram and this truck rides like a car to me. haha

tire pressure /bigger tires will help a lot before you splurge for new suspension. what size are your rims ? I seen some gen 3 with 22's (wtf)

Second vote for weight in the bed. Harsh/bouncy ride in our SR5 when its unloaded but the ride smooths out nicely when it is loaded. For winter I am currently running with 3x 60lbs of sand. I would be interested to hear the outcome if you upgrade shocks/struts. Good luck.

For my 2024 Limited 4X4, I had stock Limited 20" Wheels and Yokohama Geolandar X-CV tires at 265/60 R20 and added 2 X 40lb bags of salt to the bed. Rode in my son's 2022 SR5 TRD OR with 18" wheels / K02 tires and decided to upgrade my shocks/struts to TRD OR takeoffs. I then changed wheel/tire combo to TRD Pro BBS forged 18” wheels 18X8.5 with TRD Pro Falcon Wildpeak 285/65 18. Now it rides like a dream! Not sure if I'll keep the Falken Wildpeaks, but they came with the takeoff BBS wheels.

    Nitrogen filled tires!
My 2023 SR5 CrewMax rides fine, especially on the highway. Might let some air out of the tires. Bad rides here are the roads not the vehicle. If you think shocks are the solution look at the ultimate un-official parts thread which has OE part numbers - it will help you see what dealer selling prices are. GL

My 22 TRD Sport Premium is the best riding truck I have ever owned. And my other trucks were loaded high liners.

Plus on this. I got a full size spare ( Fuel wheel) in my bed along with a Horror Fright Badlands Jack along with the Toyota spare on the bottom. Rides pretty darn good. My truck has the TRD OR and the 2/1 Cornfeed poor man’s lift for reference. Ride is good.
