I have combed the tire pressure threads but cannot find the answer.

I have factory tires on my 2023 Limited. Yokohama Geolandar C-CV 265/60R20

Door panel recommends 35 for all 4.
Dealer put them at 40 and when I emailed they said they recommend 40 until first oil change, then ask service tech. That's a long ways off for me.

40 is fine, but the ride is somewhat rough, anyone know why the dealer would recommend 40 ? I know from experience 5psi will effect ride and gas mileage quite a bit.

My best guess is this is related to gas mileage and they want us getting the best mileage we can at initial purchase, but just a guess.

    Alot of them
A dealer doesn't give 2 shits about gas mileage. If they did bump the pressure up, it's most likely because they lose pressure over time if it's just sitting there on the lot. There only priority is a vehicle sale.
