So Saturday had a day of downpour. Never had issues before but I went out to the truck and the back p/s head rest had water all over it. Found headliner soaked and water almost steady stream in at the p/s top glass area of a power sliding window. I dropped off at my dealer where I work for another brand and found window was pulled away from body and leaking pretty bad. Anyone else have this issue? 22 sr5 double cab. Glass guy put a new window in and headliner is arriving this week. I thought it would have been a 3rd brake light for sure but glass was def leaking. Techs said only a few cars of this from other dealers but first they have seen. Truck was fine for almost two years till last week. Weird because normally bonded glass leaks right away unlike seals that get crappy over time.

I’ve read of a couple Shark Fin Antenna’s base plates leaking and running down that same direction. Both 22s

Interesting. I know it’s a frist year but would have def guessed third brake light or shark fin over a glued in rear window.

I never found the actual source for my leak, but I originally owned a 2022 TRD Pro that leaked like a sieve in the rear. Soaked the rear seats, the hybrid battery, the headliner, and the interior lights multiple times. I took it to the dealer 4-5 times for this with multiple failed attempts at isolating and fixing the leak before eventually filing for and receiving a lemon law replacement. Super strange, and not sure if our issues were the same, but definitely sound like similar circumstances.

[IMG] That crack through the sliding window frame is where it leaked. Glass guy said (don’t quote me on this) same manufacture as Chevy and their trucks are leaking like crazy. I saw the trim crack exactly where it was leaking. Hello reveal to be. My truck was fine for two years and then boom huge a was water leak. Odi disnt put down towels it would have been carpets and underlays for sure.

    Rci skid plate,
Here are the photos. The last photo you can see the crack in the frame. Not the glass. The bond to the body was fine. It was the crack in the plastic frame that guides the sliding rear window. I’m a vw tech and all I do is water leaks. This thing when it started leaking was like a steady drip drip ever two seconds. The towels saved me from carpet and mold issues but I don’t want my entire interior torn out if I can help it. I have more photos and videos if you guys want to see them let me know I’ll upload them.

Does that whole frame have to be replaced or will RTV just fill the crack?

Frame and glass are one unit so the entire rear window. Also the headliner goes out the rear window. So it was stained it all went out the back.

I have a 2022 Tundra Double Cab Limited with the rear power slide window and the same thing just happened to me. Fine for 2 years, then out of nowhere I have a leak on the driver side rear window, middle top of the frame. I got a better look at it today while dry and found a crack in the frame. Calling the Dealer as it's still under warranty and will let you all know how it goes. They still owe me a gas line and a new engine as it is.

    Rci skid plate,
Long story short the glass panel isn’t bonded to the truck. The glass is bonded to a track that holds the sliding window assembly. Then that track is bonded to the truck and that’s where it cracked and water made it between the body and glass through the cracked plastic frame/track. Blue arrow is the crack, yellow is glass and purple is the urhatane glue. It’s a weird angle but that’s where your leak most likely is.

I brought my 2022 Tundra Limited in to the Dealership to have it checked and documented. They forwarded the info to Corporate and approved a full window replacement under warranty. Parts are in and I'm scheduled for next week. I'll let you all know how it goes. Wondering how many other Tundra window leaks are out there?

Update: Toyota Service has replaced the entire rear cab window, Mine had the mid section power slide and rear window defogger. They did a nice job and performed a second leak teat after replacement. The Dealer said it was a first for them and corporate said it was very rare. There were several stress cracks in the top rail of the frame and one was big enough to let the water leak in. All covered by the initial 3 year warranty.

    Rci skid plate,
It’s more common than they say. The same Setup is in the new sliverados with slider windows. Same Manufacture and the same frame crack issue. Our dealer has had 5 trucks with the same issue. All cracked frames and all on the power sliding windows on the double cabs. Not the crew max cab drop down windows. Glad it’s fixed. Let’s just hope we got the updated version of the window.
