Hello guys the title says it all i installed a 3 inch lift kit to my 2022 tundra platinum with air bags and AVS and after that i feel that the ride quality is not the same, it got pretty rigid bumpy rough i am not sure how to explain that but its pretty bad after the lift kit. The lift kit they installed is the one below. (i was not able to find it in RC website but its the same as in the link below).

    https://www.arkonoffroad.com/store/...ift-kit-rear-air-ride-22-23-toyota-tundra-4wd

So i came across the westcott designs lift kit for the same model and they state that "you retain your factory ride quality, factory suspension geometry and still able to align the vehicle to factory specs after install" and i wanted to know if somebody installed this lift kit and your opinion about it, and if its worth to change it, this is the link for the westcott designs lift kit.

    https://westcottdesigns.net/product/2022-toyota-tundra-preload-collar-lift-kit-new/

Or the last option just to go safe with a leveling kit to keep good ride quality.

States clearly in the NOTES section of the lift kit description that it isn't intended to be used with the AVS. I know a ton of folks have been talking about needing one that works correctly with the AVS system.

EDIT: My above statement is true, but I do see where it states in the title for 2022-2023 with Air Ride, so I'm at a complete loss....

No lift is ever going to ride as nice as the stock AVS suspension unmodified as far as daily driving , just saying expectations need to take that into account.

i just noticed that but anyway I did not ordered the lift kit, the shop that installed the lift kit did everything, I think they did not know about that either.

Yes I get that I just wanted to now if somebody has experience with those westcott lift kits too see if it’s worth to “upgrade”. Or if I just go with a leveling kit to be on the safe side.

While that's pretty accurate for almost any vehicle, I've seen more lifts that forum members here rave about how nice it rides after the install than any other truck forum I've ever been on. I've been reading about lifts for the last few weeks, and I'd say about 95% of the people here are super impressed with ride quality of these trucks after a lift. The ones that haven't been happy all feel it's due to tire selection.

I'd call RC, and specifically ask them to make 100% sure. If they say it's not to be used with the AVS, then I'd take it back to the dealer/installer, and insist that they fix it with the correct one. There are a ton of questions that should be asked when you spend money. The shop/installers are supposed to be the experts, and should have asked at a MINIMUM the questions on the notes to make sure they got the correct one.

Most of the people on the forum with the AVS do just get the leveling kit.

Yes you are right and tbh I did not research enough before making a decision I think I will check on those leveling kits and see how much they charge to remove that lift and install a leveling kit, do you know how much will be a fair price to do that.

For sure, I’ve seen it all on these forums over the years , the good , the bad, and the ugly.

my favorite is “i put a shitty lift or spacers on, added load e tires that weigh 70 lbs a piece on and it rides like shit and now I get 13 mpg , wtf”

if your stock height with Avs and the load leveling rear, you don’t need a level kit to make it level, it’s that way from the start

what are you trying to accomplish?

Exactly! I've been reading and reading about lifts, and will be pulling the trigger on a mild lift and new wheels/tires once I get the exact combo I want figured out.

the lighter the wheel and tire combo you can get that you like the better it will be, some of these set ups get stupid heavy fast

Good luck man, throw up a pic when you get it all squared away!

Thanks! Yeah, I'm looking at some S rated (not much off road for me in Florida) 295/70R18 Recon Grapplers that are just under 53 lbs each. Still trying to figure out wheel selection at the present. I have read so many posts about heavier wheels and tires that I realize it can make a huge difference.

I've actually got a good friend that's got the stock TRD Pro Front and Rear Suspension that he's willing to give me a great deal on, as he's not going to use it. I know I'll need the axles (I have stock black axles currently), but from what I've been reading, the rest won't really help me. I have a little more research to do.

In the hardcore 4-wheeling community, Rough Country lifts probably have the worst reputation of any lifts for the exact reasons the OP stated.

The lift aside, the tire you are running and air pressure have a large impact on ride as well. You are probably running large thick and heavy E load tires, which ride much firmer. Tundras are sensitive to air pressure, so even just a pound or two high or low will impact ride and handling.
