Hello guys I recently bought a 2022 tundra platinum hybrid and I noticed a vibration while braking only at low speeds between 15 and 25 mph it does not happen all the times and sometimes is more noticeable than others, also while accelerating at those same speeds I feel a bit of a vibration but is more noticeable when braking does somebody know what could be the issue

Tire(s) out of balance would be the first thing to check. Although pretty rare for it to be noticeable at low speeds and not higher speeds.

Make sure your lug nuts are torqued and not loose. I had loose lug nuts after a tire rotation once that felt like that. Then Id look at rotors.

Yes it just happens at lower speeds but not every time I brake but is really often, I was thinking that could be something related to the regenerative braking

I had a “bad” new tire on a 4Runner that caused something similar. Tried rotating, road force balancing, etc. Went away when they replaced both tires on the driver side. These were AT3s from Discount Tire.

This is a simple potential fix. I had issues for a long time with the same thing, then bought a torque wrench and did it myself in sequence to spec. Problem went away.

However I only noticed at 60-70 MPH and up.

Thank you all for all your suggestions I will take it to the dealer and tell them to check all that because the truck was not cheap and is becoming really annoying

I have a 2023 Platinum Hybrid and have noticed it as well. I have no problems with tires at highspeed, etc.
It feels more to me like a glitch in the regenerative braking.

I was thinking that could be something related to that, have you tell the dealer about that or do you know more information about that issue I just want to make sure is not something else and is something that I have to live with lol

I have not talked to the dealer yet. It seem worse when I first got the truck and I'm thinking it starts to adapt after having 1200 miles on it now.
Having experience in automation controls etc. (Industry 4.0) and my thinking was a glitch when going from regenerative/electric motor braking to regular braking as it comes to a stop.

I have a 22 tundra platinum hybrid it does the same exact vibration. I believe it is due to the hybrid system. I haven’t taken it to the dealer yet.

i took it to the dealer like 3 times and of course they told me that there was nothing wrong with it and that they couldn't even notice the vibration, but i know they are just lying to me because most of the times the vibration is really noticeable, anyway i will keep running it like that and hopefully it get away when i put some miles in it, if you guys ever find more info please let us know

I have same truck and I noticed the same at times. I think mine might be when stopping and when engine shuts off I feel it. I have about 1300 miles and have not been to dealer.

‘23 PLT Hybrid, I have the same issue, usually feel the vibration around 3-4 gear under medium acceleration. Also, occasionally when braking. Only have 800 miles on it.

I’ve been paying attention lately and notice it only occurs when the truck is hot never first thing in the morning. I mostly experience it after extended idling or hybrid system use, like stop and go traffic. Could be hybrid transmission temperature related.

22 limited hybrid. I’m having vibrations when I have a little bit of throttle input at speeds of 63-69mph. Dealer first said they couldn’t feel it. I asked if the balanced the tires. Of course they said no. So I refused to take the truck until they did. Truck had around 9000 miles then. During the balancing they had to add 1/2 oz to each wheel. I was happy and thought my problem was fixed. Nope…still have the vibrations. The vibrations are even worse when towing.

Update, I was able to get the service advisor and master mechanic to ride with me and showed them the shudder during acceleration and at 50mph with slight throttle. The mechanic said it felt like a torque convertor shudder, which is also what I thought. However, they found metal in the rear differential oil. In the shop for 5 days for a replacement differential.

Yes, sounds different. Your’s sounds more like the regenerative breaking of the hybrid motor. Hope you figure it out.

I have a similiar issue, 2023 Platinum Hybrid. 7000 miles

I noticed the vibration at low speeds, low gear, if I press the gas pedal an rev up the truck the vibration goes away. I can feel the vibration on the gas pedal, steering wheel and a little bit on the driver seat.

This issue is not present all the time, I will say 70% of the time drives fine, I haven't been able to relate this with any condition, doesn't matter if is hot or cold.

Sometimes if I switch driving modes, the problem will go away, If I leave the truck in normal, next time I drive is usually good.

Dealer of course says is normal, this is the 3rd tundra we buy into our family ( one 2022 and two 2023), and so far is the only one with this issue, also is the only Hybrid one.
