    Does anyone know or have the inside scoop if Toyota is;

    1) Recording the on-board camera footage to a local memory chip that can be recalled after a crash?

    2) Planning to allow record on motion and alerting via the Toyota app when the vehicle is parked?

    3) Planning to allow real-time access to view the cameras in real time via the Toyota app?

    Does anyone know if this camera is any good? Can't find specs. Is it 4K? Is the memory removable and swappable (like a micro SD)? I've had to reply on my dash cam a few times and the clarity and easy of memory removal were key.

    I would think there are privacy concerns with the first one and doubt they would for the other 2. Tesla maybe....

    1) Not yet*
    2) Yes
    3) Not that I know of

    * The Tundra has TSS 2.5 which does not have this capability with its cameras. With TSS 3.0 coming to vehicles this year it will start recording for various features being developed currently. These will all result in new privacy disclosures and controls in the app.

    Is there any reason this camera wouldn't work on 2nd gen tundras?

    Not sure how that would be any different than buying a dash cam. Same with stoplight intersection cameras, and the cameras many states put along their expressways to report on traffic conditions.

    Anyone else installed the integrated dashcam (PT949-34220) having issues with the live view not working? I've had one person tell me it worked immediately for him. Mine just gets stuck on a spinning load screen. Then the notice "Dash cam not in recording view" shows up on the top left.

    Is there a good after-market option for plug and pay through the connectors for the Toyota dash cam in the center console above the windshield? I keep hearing how many problems people are having with the Toyota dash cam, so want to go with after market. But I also don't want to have wires run all around...I'd rather just have it connected right where the Toyota dash cam would plug in.

    Had the Toyota integrated dash cam installed by the dealer this past Thursday. There was a bit of a learning curve but once I figured it out I've not found any issues. The quality of the video is quite good for 1080/30fps. It constantly records 2min clips as long as the truck is running and over writes old clips once the memory card is full. It also stamps the date, time, speed, and GPS coordinates at the bottom of the video. The app works well once I figured out that I need to turn blue tooth off before connecting with the dash cam. Live view is working fine with the app.

    What about if you have bluetooth on? I use a hearing aid that is connected to my phone via bluetooth, so prefer to keep bluetooth on all the time.

    You only need bluetooth turned off when you have the app connected to the cam. During normal operation of the dash cam bluetooth can be turned on.

    I contacted Dongar Technologies and gave Kevin a heads up on this need, Kevin is now providing this device. I still have 6 available @$25(Shipped)and will not make anymore as I didn't want to make a business out of this.
