Apologies up front if this issue has been covered already but I didn't find it after a brief search.

I am really liking my new '22 Limited, but like others who have voiced their displeasure in the auto shut off function, I too am less than thrilled with this feature. It wouldn't be an issue if it would just stay off for good once it's turned off.

I'm looking for a kit to disable it, but seems that the kit suppliers haven't gotten around to our new Tundras yet. Has anyone found one?

If nothing is available, I might consider making one up using a timer relay.

From all the auto start cars I’ve owned this is the most user friendly one. I have to mash the brake pedal to engage so it doesn’t get much use from me.

Yeah, that's all fine and dandy, but it still shuts off then turns right back on when put in park whether your foot is on the brake or not. If you disable the stop/start, it does not do that. I would buy a device to disable just to avoid turning my engine off, then on, then off in 3 seconds every time I park.

This is an awesome write up, thanks for the link! This kit looks to do exactly what I was hoping for, and modifying the connector is no big deal.

A comment that was made in that thread about disabling the amber instrument panel auto off disabled light. That too would be nice.

I spoke with Steve @ iocanetech yesterday and he was very helpful. Installing their kit will be about as easy as an aftermarket add on can be. I will be installing this kit and also adding an on/off switch. This will give the option to turn the add on unit off so that things go back to the oem set up when desired, such as for taking the truck in for factory service. I don't want any voided warranty excuses.

I get it for those of us that this issue is a non issue, but as an industrial technician I can see how this auto stop function will adversely affect the long term wear and tear on key drive line components.

Now to look into how to turn off the amber instrument cluster auto stop indicator lamp.

Finally got outside today to get this mod installed. Like Tom's thread mentioned, I bought a kit for a 2020+ Highlander off of ebay, and with some minor connector trimming it fits right in place.

I chose to add a push button switch and mounted it discretely on a bracket mount behind the dash so that the truck's system can be returned to normal operation when I take it into the dealer or what ever.

Like Tom in the other post, I ended up soldering an extension onto the power wire so that it could reach across the dash to the passenger side where the fuse box is located. Works like a charm.
