2021 Tundra, 3k miles. I made another thread today where I installed two cali raised LED lightbars. I ran the wire to power the relays to the high beam fuse. One of the light bars is interally shorted and kept blowing its fuse. This was diagnoised thoroughly and it is a bad lightbar.

Its dark now so I tried hoppinh in the truck to see how the one working lightbar does. Ignition will come on, but the truck will not even try to crank. No clicking. Tried jumping the battery, no difference. Disconnected battery, and let it sit for a minute or so. Still wont start.

The lightbar wiring harness has power and ground from the battery. It is working fine and not the issue.

My security light is blinking, even with the doors unlocked, which I had not notice the truck blinking that light at all before. Lock doors via key fob, the light turns solid for a minute or two, then goes back to blinking.

Do my knowledge it does not have remote start. At least the press lock button on keyfob three times and hold the 3rd time does not work.

My four year old played around in the driver seat for about an hour, but I couldn't imagine there would be anything she could have pressed to keep it from starting. Yes it is in gear.

I'm sure its something simple... I looked in the engine bay fuse box and do not see any blown fuses.

Hey, I'll take the... 'that was dumb of me' feeling any day over a trip to the dealer to troubleshoot something serious!!! Been there and done those kinds of things more than once myself. Glad it's resolved

Remote start can be finicky, but you should have it if you have a keyfob.

Click the lock, wait a sec, then click twice quick holding the last click for 5 seconds then release and it should start. Also, a long hold on lock turns it off.

EDIT: Also the break pedal nanny on an automatic is lame.

I'm not sure if I misunderstood this or not.... but, I heard that the 'secret menu' key fob remote start feature was being disabled through software updates whenever the trucks were being taken in for service; forcing people to have to use the app and pay for the monthly service. Not sure if that's true or not, but I could see them doing that these days. Mine still works; for now!!! :spy:

Mine too. My truck doesn't go back in until October sometime. Hoping if they do that Techstream can undo that nonsense.

Ive done something similar. Was pressing the brake hard enough on my 21 but instead of start button I pressed tow haul button and started to freak out lol. Felt the same way you felt when I figured out.

I'm use to my '08, which is set up completely different (no push to start, tow/haul button elsewhere, etc...); more than once I've reached over to hit the Tow/Haul button and pushed the freakin' push to start/stop

I had my truck 4 years before I learned I could unlock all doors by twisting the key twice... and someone had to tell me. Makes dealing with my stripped SR (no remote locks) less annoying...

I’ve hit the tow/haul many of times and wondered why it won’t start or turn off.

Still not as bad as the Ram’s gear selector that is conveniently placed and sized as a volume knob.

Do you have push button start?

My normal key doesn't require brake to start

Always remember, the "DUMB" fixes are fantastic. Generally very quick and almost always free.
