2021 Tundra Shift delay

I love this truck but one thing is really starting to annoy me. It has a shift delay which drives me crazy. I’m not sure if this is normal for this engine or if something is wrong. I’m also wondering if installing something like Pedal Commander or Sprint Booster would solve the issue.

Most of my driving is within a few miles of the house where the speed limit is 30 miles per hour. It seems worse at those low speeds.

The other day though I had to drive to an appt about 45 minutes away. So I’m on the freeway driving 70-75 miles per hour. The RPM seemed to stay at 2,000 for majority of the drive with only occasionally falling below 2,000.

Is this all normal and I’m being crazy or is there a fix for this?

 

I do not understand the issue. Highway speeds 75ish, RPM is going to be around 2000. It is a 6 speed trans so not sure what you are expecting.

 

My neighbor says his ‘20 has a bit of a hesitation under very light throttle at lower speeds. I have read that is the nature of the beast…it’s a fly-by-wire throttle. Search fly-by-wire throttle on google. SO MANY automotive forums come up.

If you’re experiencing the same thing, it’s apparently normal and not indicative of any underlying issues.

 

Honestly I’ve never paid much attention to it on my previous vehicle (2007 Tahoe). But driving this I can feel it if that makes sense.

 

Glad I can't chime in on this subject. My 19 Pro has perfect throttle response and a smooth tranny. Guess I should knock on wood.

 

I don't notice any lag while driving, but the delay when going from P to R, P to D, or R to D seems to be about 3 or 4 seconds. To my impatient self this seems to be 2 to 3 seconds too long.
