    Ehhh....

Personally, I'd pass on a fleet vehicle. It's probably been service regularly, but the folks that have driven it are operating a vehicle that they have not vested interest in. So, I'm guessing hard starts, hard stops, slamming into bumps and whooops at speeds higher than they should. Maybe not, but I'd think rental car in terms of how it's used and driven...

I thought the same thing but its in really good shape int& exterior
& the cement color v8s crewmax try models are so hard to find 50,000 miles
Im sending it to a Toyota dealer to get the overhaul & their thoughts ?
Is there something I should especially look for ?

I'd get underneath of it as most 'abuse' will show up under the truck. Look for signs of the bump stops bottoming out hard, scrapes and damage to the undercarriage and areas such as rear differential, bottom of the shocks mounts, lower control arms, etc.. Also look at the wheels (inside and outside) for signs of being curbed scraped against things which would indicate some careless behavior

Also, check for signs of towing if it has a hitch (wear on the receiver, marks where the chains hook into, etc...). Not necessarily a bad thing, but 50,000 miles w/a substantial amount of towing can mean earlier maintenance/replacement intervals for items under stress. Also, don't forget our '21s did not come w/a built in trans cooler like your '13 had, so excessive heat build up when towing, idling in drive or just being driven hard could mean extra transmission wear.

    Great thoughts
I was under it & checked outer the outer part of the wheels they look great
I will check out the bottoms of shock mounts & undercarriage more carefully
It doesn't look like the hitch are had much use
Thanks for the heads up on the trans coolers
I will need to install one on it what brand would you recommend
    Thanks for all your input
What else is the difference in the 21 compared to the 13?

Most of us are running setrab or hayden coolers... plenty of threads here on the forum on them!

If you end up w/the truck, I'd do a drain n fill pretty quick on the trans, and that will give you an idea on the trans condition. At 50k the fluid will probably be fairly dark (unless it's been recently changed), but it shouldn't smell 'burnt'.

Main differences are all the damn nannies... Some of the crap on the '21 just gets really old (warnings, etc...), but those sensors and 'nannies' have also saved my bacon a couple of times, so :notsure:

Other than the electronics and nannies, the trucks are fairly similar, but my personal experience is that my '08 appears to be better built than my '21. I'm guessing your 2013 will seem the same to you when you start looking at body panels, trim pieces, etc... Seems like when the focus is adding tech we lose attention to detail on the important stuff within the build of the truck.

An example being I got bolt heads that have started developing some surface rust in places where 2 of a group of 4 bolts will have rust and 2 will be completely clean. The same 4 bolts on my '08 are clean (both trucks live in the same environment and do the same shit), so I'm guessing some variance in fastener quality during the time of the build.

On the plus side some of the tech I enjoy. I thought I'd hate adaptive cruise, but I love having it.

My '21 is a Pro, so the tech package is weird on my truck. I have adaptive cruise, auto high-beams, heated seats and such, but no driver seat memory or parking sensors... :notsure: It's weird!!!

If the truck has wired CarPlay (JBL headunit), consider a wireless dongle and that feature becomes pretty nice. Overall sound quality in my '08 is far superior to my '21.

I thought I'd want a 3rd Gen when they came out, but I didn't care for the design and how it felt to me sitting in the truck. So, I then scrambled late in the year (21) to find one of the last new 21 Pros because my '08 was getting up there in mileage and I wanted a new truck. I'm more than happy with the purchase of my '21, but I'm not confident it'll make it to 300k like my '08 is doing (time will tell).

I’m fairly certain you couldn’t get a TRD Sport in the cement color. It’s probably a TRD Off Road or just a regular SR5 and someone changed the decals. That would explain the lack of hood scoop and no 20” wheels.

    Welcome to the forum..

Do you have a pic of it or link to the sale?

I'd rather have 18" wheels and no worthless hood scoop.
I know the 'sport' gives you color matched bumper ends, which is a plus..

    This might help..

TRD Off Road Premium vs TRD Sport Premium | Toyota Tundra Forum

As far as being a fleet vehicle, if the truck looks good I wouldn't worry too much about it.
My wife has only bought used vehicles, usually low mileage 1 or 2 year old demos or loaners from dealerships, but they always had plenty of factory warranty left on them.

    Yes
thanks for the feedback. Do you have the storage compartments in the bed that they originally were equipped with?
the one I am going to purchase has none
I assume they just pulled them for more storage room in bed .
Did yours come with step bars ? Does yours have heated seats?
A cool set of step bars would really look sweet
Thanks for any input you have

I do have the storage compartments, the drivers side is actually a cooler. They come in useful sometimes, and are in the way other times. Since there is not much storage inside I have tow straps/tie downs/jumper cables etc in the right one. There is about 48.5in between them so I can still get a sheet of plywood/drywall in between. I do have a soft cover that I added, had to make sure it didn’t interfere with the boxes.

I had the dealer add the running boards for “free” to sweeten the deal. I like them, my family really likes them for getting in/out. I kinda wanted the Predator steps, but they didn’t work for everyone in the family.

No heated seats in this truck trim I am afraid. I have seen many kits to add them on this forum though, seems easy to do if that’s something you want.

Other thoughts, I also really like the grill and wheels. They are what made me pick it over a regular sr5. I do wish they had color matched the front bumper corners like they did the back, but there are options to change that if you want bumper shelz or painted bumper corners.

Did you buy your truck new?
Your step bars look nice on your ride Im thinking the predator bars will look sweet against the cement color
My kids are grown now have a grand daughter that has trouble getting in my 13 tundra so my 21 will need bars
I agree they should of done front bumper also I like the blackout emblems too

You can try running the VIN thru this, you'll have to make an account.
Although it may only give you basic info and not the port added accessories.

    Nevermind, I found the VIN

Price seems high for that mileage and a repaired door.

Check out the AutoCheck report on that truck. There are no maintenance items. How long did they go between changes? Who knows? Maybe they knew they would only keep it for 50k miles so they changed the oil every 20k or something. There's no record of any maintenance at all.

I'd pass until you find a truck with great maintenance history and no unreported accidents (even if they are repaired).

Don't get me wrong; I love my '21. It has been a fantastic truck for me.

I find it interesting that the Carfax (which actually has maintenance history, unlike the AutoCheck report) is NOT on their website. Did you double check that the VIN on the Carfax matches that truck? Dealers do some shady things...

PS: if you look that truck up on CarGurus, the avg market price is $39,818

The dealer gave me the auto check which had no maintenance checks
I personally paid for the carfax $ 45 just because I was trying to get the window sticker but failed
that's were I found the maintenance history It was preformed at the dealer where it was originally purchased

    2021 SR5 Trail
Mine was not new, it had about 7,000 miles on it as a dealership loaner. I have had no issues or concerns with that. It’s how my family purchased most of our as I grew up and I have continued with my family. We have never encountered an issue that was because of that fleet usage.

if you do buy the truck and get the Predator steps I want to see a picture of it!
