2021 Tundra parts delay

Is anyone experiencing a delay in parts for pre-new body style Tundra's, or happen to have a couple doors lying around (NOT damaged)? I'm nearly a year into waiting on the delivery of passenger front and rear doors for my 21 Crew Max Limited, after being t-boned by 2 deer, yep, I said deer. They jumped right into the side of my truck. I have a case with Toyota, and every month since July they have pushed the ETA back another month. The case manager today told me I need to just buy a wrecked Tundra, look on ebay, etc. My fifth Toyota, but I'll never buy another. As a note, the dealership said you can't repair or do body work on the doors due to the reinforcing metal attached to the inside of them. I'm beginning to doubt that reasoning.

 

I am no expert, but it sure seems like a body shop should be able to locate two doors faster than a year… Have you tried a few different places?

Deer are stupid, a friend had a similar issue about 25 years ago just after getting his license. His dad didn’t believe him. Next week in the exact same place a deer jumped into the exact same spot on his dad’s brand new truck! Was a good memory you reminded me of!

 

Welcome to the forum! Crazy world nowadays! All kinds of folks are having all kinds of problems! Pretty sure you can get a few doors from salvage for a price. Good luck as we continue to experience the fun times ahead.

Thanks for the replies. I have checked Certafit , they don't even carry the doors, I found a front door on eBay, but since no one is keen on actual body work, I'm not a fan of paying $800 for one I can’t see personally. And, no pull apart places have any. I did have a friend refer me to a body shop that I'm running to next week. They did say it’s a national parts delay, and Toyota isn't the only make with the issue. They have a couple cars in their yard that have been waiting on parts since August. Guess it’s the world we are living in today. I’m lucky I can still drive it, just can’t roll down the passenger windows.

I just did a search.

Toyota can get door skins, the complete door shell does not appear to be available.

Your best bet would be to search out a recycled door and have it painted.

 

Passenger, both doors, but need to be 2019-2021 to fit. Thanks for the link though! I’m running it to a body shop this week, they will look harder than the current dealership that has them on order for used doors, or with bigger dealerships to check their inventory.

It took Toyota 8 months to get my catalytic converter replacements when they were stolen in November of 2021.
Fortunately, they paid for my loaner during that time.

I hope you get this issue resolved..
