    Hey all,
Just wanted to start with thanking everyone that posts on here. Love the community and how helpful all the write ups are for modifications and so on.

I noticed a handful of different posts but no resolution to any of them. Curious if anyone has successfully or found otherwise adding seat memory to existing power seats. The wife and I use my truck to go on long trips and would be really helpful to add the memory function when hot swapping drivers. I've been lucky with my older Taco and a few other cars of simply swapping out the plastics and adding the buttons with the harnesses already in place. But seeing mixed information on this searching around.

If anyone has any information here, it would be greatly appreciated!

Interested in this as well. I have a loaded up SR5 and this is the one feature I miss that our SUV has but the truck doesn’t

I too would love to find out how simple, or complex this mod would be.

I believe this has been researched quite a bit. I also searched for solutions to this prior to buying my 21 Limited. I wanted the memory seats for the same reason as the OP but didn't want to limit my options to buying a Platinum or 1794 (can't recall if one or both have it). I did find threads on this here and elsewhere and to the best of my recollection there's a lot more to it than adding the door controls to an existing electronically adjustable seat. I'll try looking around for any links I may have saved and share here.

But if it can be confirmed that this is a reasonably do-able process I would be willing to give it a try.

Yeah this isn't as easy as just swapping out the seat. You'd need a whole new wiring harness and also some sort of computer (not sure if it's tied down to the ECU or not) to interpret EMF signals from special motors to figure out the exact position it's currently in.

Look on the bright side, it could be worse. The Toyota SR model came with manual seats, and THOSE sucked in adjusting

The non-memory front driver's seat has two switches to adjust.
Powered by the battery, it is a very simple circuit.

The memory driver's seat has it's own ECU.
This ECU also controls mirror memory.
That explains why some are saying it's a different wiring harness.
    That's a whole lotta extra wiring...:eek2:

    Could it be done? Probably.
    Would it be practical? No.....YMMV

Thank you for posting these details.

Confirms I should probably not pursue this given it’s not an easy swap.

Check the build link in my signature.
    New seat
    New ECU in the door
New memory switch and trim piece (requires complete new interior door panel)
    All interconnect wiring and connectors.
High likelihood the door memory ECU will wig out if it doesn’t see the associated power fold mirrors and their associated micro-processor switch (not the same one most of us use to put power fold in our non-memory trucks) because mirror position is part of that system (as are the puddle lights).
Also a chance the seat ventilation system in the AC controller needs to see all of its components that may be tied to that, which might require passenger seat as well then (and a different AC controller and amplifier/ECU for the seat vent controls).
Those platinum mirrors also have BSM (not all limited trims do, and the wires are in different pins). And EC/auto-dim glass.
Even a possibility the main ECU needs to be swapped to correctly communicate with the memory system…

I looked into it at one point.
Would’ve been cheaper to buy a Platinum, “TRD Faux” it, and have it painted Lunar Rock.

edit - forgot to add a second ecu in the passenger door for that mirror
