[IMG] Gentlemen, (and ladies? Eh, doubt it)

I’m happy to be here and to be the owner of a 2021 tundra after my ecoboost falling apart like it was make of toothpicks and bubblegum. Bilstein’s and scs wheels coming soon, BUT I gotta figure out what’s going on here. Hate to just jump on here and ask for help, but this is where I’m at.

I just bought this truck. 75k miles. Early September in Texas, 100° still, AC works great, good deal. Well, we recently had a cool front roll in and I was driving to work and was a little chilly. Turned on the heater, and cold air was blowing. Thought “eh, hasn’t warmed up yet.” Well long story short, my heat doesn’t work in the front seat. Only in the two tiny vents in the back seat. Front defrost, face and feet are just ambient air. Now I can’t find much online about anyone having a similar issue especially in such a recent model year. What I am experiencing that’s different than what I’ve seen is this horrible noise coming from the driver side vent by the head unit. Possible blend door issue? Some kind of motor? Sounds like a little motor trying to do something but is having some major troubles. If anyone has any similar experience or wisdom I would greatly appreciate it!! Want to know what I’m up against.

Yeah yours sounds like my blend doors. Mine was self inflicted because I ran a bunch of wires behind the HU through a space that I thought was clear. Turned out the cables got jammed into the exposed blend door gears and it went to shit from there.

Blend door for sure. I have a 2019 and had issues with mine being stuck in defrost mode and then the issue with the heater not working. I was also hearing a popping sound under the dash. I just replaced my Servo Sub-Assembly to fix mine. Part number is 87106-0C140. Dealership will charge a lot of money to fix this but it's something you can do. Hardest part is getting the servos to line back up.

This is how you get the servo sub assembly out.

Use this link to line everything back up.

Even with this video, I struggled to get the slots to line up, but eventually it worked. If you don't get it the first couple of times, just take a break and come back to it.
