This is hard to explain but here I go.......upon acceleration the left side of the driver's seat seems to rock back and make a clicking noise (it feels as if something internal in the seat is broke). This only happens on the left side and I can feel it near the back of the seat cushion. I took it into the dealership and they have "tightened the seat bolts down" and "can not duplicate customer complaints." I asked if they drove my truck and the service technician could not give me a straight answer. Got in my truck to leave and the same thing happens upon acceleration. I have a third appointment next week to address this issue again. I'm requesting a new driver's seat but the dealership has to jump through Toyota's hoops in order to get this process started. Is there anyone in here that has had or is having this problem or is this normal? I have other people drive my truck and they have confirmed what I am feeling. Any help would greatly be appreciated.

not heard of the issue, but when you drop it off have someone from the dealer do a quick ride with you so you can demonstrate the issue. Brand new truck, so toyota will take care of it. If the dealer you are working with now cant or wont, try another dealer. Some dealers just suck.

I have the same thing in mine. It doesn't happen all the time or I don't notice it all the time. I was thinking it was a bolt not tightened down but haven't looked yet. Only happens to me when I first get in and randomly.
Let me know if you figure it out.

My 2014 1794 rocks back and forth. I have the same seats as a platinum with different leather. I just thought it was wore out slides. I've gotten used to, but now I'll start noticing it again. Thanks! Lol

I had that issue with mine but it also had an annoying creaking sound too. Ended up being a broken seat weld or something. Can’t remember exactly. It was fixed under warranty and never had a the issue again.

I have this sound on my 21 Platinum coming from the drivers side seat. It makes a pop or a knock type of sound when I'm moving diagonally or rock forward/back a bit in the seat.

When I took it in even the Toyota service rep could even hear it. He seemed pretty confident it was the seat rails and they have ordered a new set.

I plan to take it in next week or the following week once the parts arrive all under warranty.

I will let you know if this solves the issue.

*Update: Issue is fixed replacing the seat rails worked like a charm*

    Update:
I took mine in and they said in fact there is an issue with the seat frame and they got me an appointment to replace the seat frame. The noise is now gone.

    Covered under warranty.

Where did you go? My dealer told me that this normal. I may have to call Toyota for help.

My 2021 (SR5 CM with power seats) does the same exact thing you described. When I took it in for the 5k service I mentioned it and they of course said they said they couldn't find an issue. I'm going to push the issue when I take it in for the 1st oil change and get it fixed. Definitely should not be happening on a brand new truck. I'm glad I'm not the only one experiencing this.

they were the ones who told me that it was normal. It appears that I may have to go and talk with the service manager to take a closer look. I will let them know that you took it there and they fixed the issue. It cost me a day off of work last time for them to give me that bs excuse. Thanks for letting me know.

Update - after several visits I had one service advisor call me back and go over exactly what I was hearing/feeling in the seat. Upon further review it was a cracked seat frame. This was happening since new and now with 29K miles it is finally getting fixed and is covered under warranty. Thanks to all who have commented on this thread.

I had this on my 2021 SR5 DC for sure. Was driving me crazy looking for an issue. I just traded it in so it's someone else's problem at this point but it was exactly what the OP was talking about. I had plain jane model with power cloth seats.

Thanks for this update. My 21 truck (now 20k miles) has been doing this since new. I had the dealer look into it on its 10k visit and they did the same as your initial visit (tighten bolts down). Eventually I need to go back in and request they look further into it. I do my own oil changes so it never sees the dealership.

Update (23k miles; 2nd inspection)-I just had mine inspected at a Toyota dealer for the 2nd time and I told them to check the seat frame. They took pictures and said they couldn't find anything nor could they duplicate the movement. No fix or adjustment made.

Clicking noise comes from your seat belt connector to your right side. When you drive hold the area where yours seatbelt plugs into the right side, and you will see that the random clicking stop. It DROVE me nuts for many months till I discovered.

Make them put their denial on record and tell them you believe its a safety issue. My friend recently had his fixed using this reasoning. Mine has been just fine since frame was replaced.
