Curious about a few things happening with my truck to see if anyone else has experienced them. My transmission randomly failed today, have taken it to dealership. 6 months after I purchased the car the 4 wheel drive was turning on and off on its own and it lived in the shop for 45 days until they found the electrical issue. Given todays issue starting to have some concerns with the truck and the very out of the normal issues it is and has had. Anyone experience ever experience this ? Do I have any options, understand a lemon results when a problem can’t be fixed. But these issues seem very uncharacteristic. Any help or info greatly appreciated.

How many miles are on the truck?

Has the transmission fluid been changed at all in the truck's life?

Have you towed often with it? If so, how much weight typically?

Sorry to hear you're going through this. As far as I know these transmissions are quite bulletproof and hopefully this was a total one-off situation and you'll be good to go once they throw a new one in.

    Yikes. Sorry to hear that.

What do you mean by "the transmission failed"?

Is Toyota replacing the transmission? Transmission failure in these is not common. If mine failed and they put a new transmission in it, I'd be fine moving forward as long as I wasn't having new issues.

The Lemon Law is more complex than simply not being able to fix something. And it varies by state.

    Good luck.

This is the same dude from the Reddit thread and he states it was purchased new.

Too many details missing for any of us to help him out.
