    Hi guys,

what’s everyone’s opinion on the 2022 Tundra? I sold my 2021 Tundra trd sport and bought a 2021 Ram 2500 diesel. I want to get back into a Tundra but not sure if I should get the 2021 or wait for the 2022. I really loved my 2021 so wanted to get another one. I know.. it’s crazy but I miss my Tundra!!! Thank you!

Why’d you sell your 21 tundra?

    Why you’d buy a 2500 Ram?

Why do you want a 21 tundra again if you sold it?

    why why why

Without more info, and since you trade trucks quite a bit, I’d wait for the 2022 since it’s completely different being v6 twin turbo gas? :notsure:

Buy a 21 now. Trade in for 22 Ram diesel at the end of the year. Then trade that in for a 22 TRD Pro next summer. :D

Thank you guys. I bought the Ram because we were gonna buy a toy hauler but plans changed. I’ve owned all brands and I’ve go to say that the Tundra Has been the best for me. A bit nervous about the v6 twin turbo. The 5.7 is a beast.

I would wait for 2022 Hybrid Tundra. I am driving an old old old 2007 hybrid Lexus RX400h and I love it. It still runs like new with 222K+ on the odometer. I never had any issue with hybrid system. It has lot of power when you want to pass at high way speed (65+mph). It doesn't save much in gas but the performance of hybrid vehicle at high speed is like a sport vehicle.

Thanks guys.I guess it wouldn’t hurt to wait for the 2022. Hopefully there still more 21s if I don’t like the 2022.

That hybrid will also have a hefty price tag on it. I guess I’ll wait and see what happens.

I bought a 2021 back in February this year because I specifically wanted a V8 Tundra model. I have not checked availability recently, but I believe new stock is hard to find and used prices are high. Having said that, I am sure the 2022 model will be a great truck. Bottom line for me was V8 versus V6 Turbo.

Enjoy the hunt for a new truck… it’s half the fun!

Right on Thor. Thank you all for the feedback. Can’t beat that v8! Hopefully they offer it until this December!

I bought a 21 9 months ago. Not gonna lie, the 22 looks great! I'd get the Crewmax with 6.5ft bed. Everything about the new truck looks better aside from the exterior - and I could mod that ugly face to make it acceptable.

The best thing about the old model is the silky smooth gas guzzling V8. But other than that the truck is indeed a dinosaur in every respect. Yes it's reliable but I don't think the new one will be any different. (fingers crossed) My wife's volvo has a twin turbo 2L engine and you'd never know it, the vehicle has plenty of power. I'm a believer in the technology. Add a bit of hybrid boost for torque on top of that and I bet the new truck will be fun to drive.

I'd get the 2022. Even the 2021 instrument cluster looks like it's from 1970.

I would start asking around to find a 21 that is not being abused that will become available when the owner can score a 22. Private transactions are a beautiful thing. Dinosaurs are my preference though, not sure about your taste.

The 2022 is ugly as hell, inside and out. 21's are hard to find, you won't see a 22 any time soon. They are struggling to build the remaining 21 orders. Shortages are getting worse, and people are getting lazier because they don't want to work, which will make it even worse. 2021 and press on!

No, and i actually had a 944 turbo S back in the day and it was badass. i could expand rice rockets into sports cars in general if that makes you happy.

I bought a ‘21 September 25th of last year. 1 year and 4 days of ownership. I’ve put 16k miles on it without a single hiccup. The numbers on the ‘22 are pretty good—decent bump in torque at a far lower RPM, and apparently 1800lb of payload in a 4x4 Crewmax SR5 (probably with 0 packages, no steps, bed liner, sunroof, ect). That 3.5TT motor has been around a while, but it hasn’t been towing/hauling heavy loads in a truck, so I’m happy to wait for it to prove itself.

I’ll end up in a 3rd gen Tundra at some point down the road, but mine is fairly close to being paid off. And it’s so easy to maintain, too. Bonehead simple layout. The money I save on that end more than makes up for the fuel costs.

My wife’s Yukon is the older of our vehicles and is far more frustrating to work on. We’ll end up with a 3rd gen Sequoia before a 3rd gen Tundra.
