Mine has 47000 miles, its first time change tranny oil.(2020 model)
I did drain and fill when truck is cold around 60 outside.

when i drained 3.2 qt came out.
    Put 3.2 back in
And I drove it couple days. It shifts fine everything was okay.
but just want to make sure I wanted to check level. I went under truck and checked.. I do have cooler but truck doesn’t have cooler open button stuff.

so i just did leveled check without bypass line. when tranny is about 100, blood temp.
1.2 qt came out from leveling plug.

    and drove 1 day.
It shifted better and more smoothly.

now I am wondering should I put 1.2 qt back in or leave it like this?

    Please give me some advice.

Watch this video from @2020Platinum that shows how to check the fluid level. Start at the 30 minute mark for servicing.

Not sure I'm following this part. The 2020 doesn't have a cooler unless an aftermarket one was installed. The "button" is on the thermostat which is original to 2018 and older models that had a cooler, if you don't have that you only have the warming puck.

Anyway, you need to be measuring the pan temperature with a scan tool and get it right at the limit to properly check it. Since you just drained some, there is question on exactly what your level is, so I'd definitely follow the procedure to a tee. The temperature range is 99F to 111F. Start the truck and cycle one by one through the gears and you'll be there in short order.

    • I think Cooler is there
It looks exactly same silver round and I think 2 hose coming out like video but doesn’t have that bypass button.
    And I did follow procedure
    Still came out 1 qt

is there any way factory filled up 1qt more??

As stated above, you have the warming puck, it's not a cooler, it's to warm up the fluid faster for economy. The warming puck does not have thermostat that can be pinned open.

    Make sense!
    It’s warming puck okay.
So do you have any idea When I opened level plug it came out 1qt? After I put oil in exactly same amount

Not really. It probably had more than it needed from the factory.

I think I'm on my 5th drain and fill.

I only used the factory procedure on the 1st fill.

After that, I just drain and fill exactly what came out.

If I were you, I'd add back that 1.2 quarts plus maybe another half a quart (so ~1.7 qts total), and then rerun the check procedure. You're not supposed to leave the check plug open until it runs dry, just until it reduces to more of a trickle.

    I agree with this.

I will add that I also have a 2020, and decided to add a cooler juat a couple of months after I bought it new. Before starting the installation I did a quick level check and was surprised to find the transmission was over full from the factory.

I read some where that after Toyota dropped the factory cooler they apparently didn't adjust the fluid fill level causing an over fill situation.
