I need some help on my head unit. I just bought this truck, it had after market head unit in it and the guy took his speakers out of it, I bought the cheapest head unit I could find on eBay that was for a 2020-2021. And I guess I bought the wrong one. I just don’t know if this plug is important. Seems to be working fine. Apple car play, blue tooth, sterling wheel controls and everything work, I don’t know about the speakers cause he took his out but I hope that’s not it. Dose anyone know what this plug is for?

It plugs into the back of a 86140-0C420 JBL receiver. Though not sure if your truck originally came with a JBL receiver?

And that JBL receiver was only available with the 2020/2021 Tundra models and pairs up to a JBL amp (part number 86280-0C230) located under the passenger seat.

Also, the factory JBL mid range door speakers have an orange foam ring, you can't miss them when searching e-bay.

And with that, the Tundra 2020/2021 factory JBL system was by far the worst stereo I've ever listened to.

I kept my JBL head unit due to all of the built in various controls for customizing door lock behavior, etc. I recently added another 8 channel amp that piggy backs off of the existing amp, replaced the 8" subwoofer behind the rear seat and replaced the front door speakers. This was a bare bones upgrade and the JBL stereo IMO now rates as one of the better ones I've listened to.

The information posted here may add some value.. https://www.tundras.com/threads/20-21-oem-radio-part-number.113148/

If you have a TRD Sport, it most likely did not come with the JBL system. So the headunit you have won’t work with the non jbl system in the truck.
