2020 Tundra and phone issues

I have a '20 Tundra Limited. As of Tuesday 4/11/23, I cannot initiate a phone call or text with voice commands. It says "Loading phonebook" every time you try it. I have a six month old Samsung S21 phone that is 5G capable. I mention this because I've this issue with this truck once before when I had a Samsung A series (low end) that wasn't 5G compatible.

I can receive calls fine. I can call someone if I physically call them from the phone and the truck picks that up. The phone is connected to the truck fine. Just cannot do anything via voice command.

Has anyone else experienced this and have you fixed it?

Have you tried deleting your phone and setting up from scratch again? That should force it to resync your address book.

 

I've deleted the phone and re-added it and that did enable me to make a phone call via voice command. It still doesn't allow me to make a message/text that way. The message I receive is "The connected phone does not support this function." This, of course, is completely false since I'd been doing it for several months. I'm not finding any setting in the phone that would that have disabled.

Deleting the phone and re-adding did return the ability to use voice commands to make a phone call. It didn't allow me to use voice to send a text. I then found a setting in my phone related to messaging that was switched off, ( something I hadn't done, maybe in a recent upgrade?). I turned this on, didn't fix the voice/text problem until I had rebooted the phone and then re-started the truck, twice. Semi-auto-magically it's now working!
