I don’t expect my build to be too terribly extreme, as I just had my first child 18 months ago and all of that prior disposable income is no longer disposable! I am not new to Toyota, as prior to this truck, I had a 99 Tacoma, followed by a 2008 Tundra. Loved both of them and each one exceeded 170k miles with ease and very little care other than routine maintenance. Once the little one arrived I decided to sell the double cab and get a crewmax.

The first thing I did was add weather tech floor liners, nFab steps, tinted the front windows with ceramic 20% and 35% on the windshield. I patiently waited for a bed cover to pop up on market place and found a very good deal on an undercover ultra flex. Deer season was approaching and I was worried the factory Michelin’s weren’t going to cut it. My local Toyota dealer had factory takeoff’s from brand new tundras for cheap. New set of Goodyear Duratracs for $100/ tire and $100 to mount and balance the set. Jumped on that and was very impressed with the Goodyear tires. Continued to watch Tundras.com and got the bug to go a step further. My previous tundra had the old man emu 613 and rear Dakar springs for 11 out of the 12 years I owned it. Never had a component fail and beat the mess out of it on camp roads and gravel levees. Ordered the 612 kit from toytec in early June, they said I wouldn’t see it till mid to late august. In no rush to install, I patiently watched FB marketplace again for a good set of used tires in and adequate size to compliment the lift. With the ARB bumper, I had no issues ever running 35-12.50x18, but didn’t want to get too crazy with this truck as I spend more time on the highway than I used to. Found a set of Toyo AT3 with around 1500 miles on them for half the cost of a new set, so I jumped on those and stashed them in my garage until the lift arrived. Lift finally came in early august and I installed everything one evening after work and had the tires mounted the following day at toyota as well as the front end alignment.

So far everything is great, next thing on my mind is a semi hidden winch mount and a 10k synthetic winch. Any suggestions or experience with those would be appreciated. Been eyeballing the victory 4x4, warn, and southern style off-road hidden winch mounts.
