Found a sequoia and almost had the deal done when I noticed the cover for the shark fin antenna was missing. This prompted further investigation, looks like someone maybe had some cargo on the roof racks, hit something low (garage?) which pushed into the antenna and continued sliding rearward leaving a few scratches on the roof and spoiler. The antenna cover that the dealer put on is not making contact with the roof and there looks to be a small dent in the roof under where the antenna cover would hide on the roof.

The dealer is sending the sequoia to the body shop and said a new antenna will be put on. Have yet to do any paper work on the vehicle.

Anyone have this happen? With how big these SUVs are it would seem this might come up a lot. Wondering how much I need to be concerned about this repair. If am/fm/gps/satellite radio work that will confirm the antenna is functional. My main concern is this area on the roof being properly fixed to seal out weather from getting inside.

Hoping to hear from anyone with similar experiences.

It has great maintenance records (5-6k mile oil change intervals), low mileage, 1 owner, no records of any accidents, and other than needing a proper detailing looks to be in great shape.
