Just started looking into buying a Tundra.

Current offer is a 2020 Platinum with bed liner and bed cover.

    MSRP $56154
    Discount $4156
    Rebate $2000
    Selling Price $49998
    Tax $3153
    Fees $179
    Docs $459
    OTD $53785

I'm thinking if I can get to $49998 not including the $2K rebate so I can use the 1.9% financing that's a good start. Platinums are not all that plentiful in my area. That said, I have absolutely no need to get a new truck. If the numbers work then great and if not I'll continue to happily drive my Lexus.

Well it's looking good. Second offer from another area dealer for a 2020 Platinum:

    MSRP $54270
    Discount $5500
    Incentive $2000
    Sales Price $46770

So that's 14% off with the incentive and 10.2% without incentive. I prefer the color of the first offer but this is doable as well.

that is a pretty legit deal. You may be able to squeak out a few accessories, but if you are a serious buyer than you better jump on that.

I was going to say tell them 45 or 46 and a Ask for extras on top of that. And do this towards the last day of the month. If you are not paying cash tell them what you want your payments to be. The worst that can happen is they say no. But at the end of the month they will not say no, they will do it all to get you into a new vehicle!!:). Good luck!!

Agreed, but do not tell them what you want your payments to be!!!!!!!!!! They will sell him that truck at $53k and 84 months faster than you can shake a stick, haha.

Those doc fees would be illegal in Tx. They are capped at about 160

I have to inquire about the $179 fee but the doc fee is pretty standard here with $450 being the going rate regardless of manufacture or dealership.

We'll see what the initial response is this AM. I'm leaving tomorrow night for a business trip and so unless they are quick about it I have today/tonight and tomororw to get this done in February. Not that I'm rushing but I have purchased more than one vehicle basically via email over the course of a single 8 hour work day and picked them up after work. If it doesn't workout so be it....the second offer vehicles won't even be at the dealership until the end of the first week of February.

So closed tonight on a different Tundra because the first dealership was totally unresponsive. I was going to accept $29K on a 2018 Honda Pilot Touring with 24,500 miles and they came back with an offer of $31K - I owe $26K so:

    MSRP $55,460
    Discount -$5,500
    Trade-in -$5,000
    Sale Price. $44,960 + TTL
Took the 1.9% financing for 60 months. Possibly could've done better on price but trade-in was a home run.

First dealership was a total mess to deal with online. I have been doing 99% of the work via email for my past 6 vehicles for the past TEN years online with no problems. The first dealership responded to my email questions from last night at 2PM today?! I finally sent them an email stating it's 2020 - we could've agreed on a price by 9am, had financing done my noon for an after work pickup on a truck that has been on their lot for 3 months but they just would'nt respond.

Now the fun (habit) begins! Even more fun is I get to drive this thing in Boston tomorrow!

If your happy then it is good.

My goal is always to get a fair deal within the context of not really wanting to do any real work. Yes, I could do better selling the Pilot in a private sale and I could probably haggle a little more but at the end of the day....I don't really care about a thousand here or couple hundred there. Call it a personality defect.

Congrats!!! You will love it. The wireless charger would be a nice addition. The 2020's come with Apple car play so you are good to go there.
